| | | mykim0 | 01-17-2011 05:33 PM | where to look for wholesale stuff? I just got a listing pulled on ebay selling brainetics so Im feeling depressed. What are some good wholesale websites that are recommended? I have tried looking at dhgate and tradetang, etc but I have not been able to
find a product that I can sell. Obviously I cant sell branded items so Im guessing most people make money selling generics?
I just need someone to point me in the right direction. Is there a website the sells cheap generics? |
| SaiJin | 01-17-2011 05:54 PM | There's quite a few distribution / wholesalers in USA that you can google up.
I'd have told you the names, but I forgot what they were.
Google up: USA distributors / Liquidation / wholesale warehouse and it'll come up
with the names.
DHgate? heh... I never bought from them, but they are known for selling @@@@ and I advice you to stay away. |
What do you mean? DHgate bought me a new car in cash lol |
| Red X | 01-17-2011 06:44 PM | Google/Ask Jeeves/Yahoo,etc type in whatever it is you plan on selling for example cups, so type in cup suppliers, cup distributors, cup wholesalers, etc |
| holymoly | 01-17-2011 06:47 PM | DHGATE ain't as bad as people make it...just gotta do research. |
| mykim0 | 01-18-2011 03:42 PM | the problem with dhgate and other chinese sites is that they mostly have branded items. It seems that ebay is up in your ass if you sell anything branded.
I have been doing research on what to sell but im coming up empty thanks to Vero. Im guessing MLB baseball hats are not a good idea to sell either right? |
| siccspitz | 01-18-2011 04:23 PM | DHgate has tons of scammers and few legit guys
its hard to find those good guys in such a bad bunch
hence why no one likes Dhgate - 10 % good guys and like 90% scammers in there lol |
| ebayerOG | 01-18-2011 04:29 PM | i do dropshipping car parts if your intrested.pm me your email for more info |
| WasTopRatedThenBanned | 01-18-2011 11:33 PM | I have bought for dhgate many times, it has been great!
They key is to ask questions before you buy from them and read listing carefully.
I use to buy from liquidation.com also, however 30 % problems. |
| Red X | 01-19-2011 12:03 AM | Not everything on dhgate is brand name. You have to dig a little deeper, they also have nonbrand items as well, keep looking you'll eventually find something. Good Luck! |

As slapped has indicated, you need to search the forums as you are new here, OP. |
| mykim0 | 01-20-2011 03:48 PM | the thing that annoys me is that even if i do find a product that sells well on ebay, I cant seem to find it at wholesale prices
For example, quicksilver singlets for men seem to be a decent item but i cant find it anywhere for wholesale |
| slapped | 01-21-2011 10:35 AM | It seems that you DID NOT read the Thread I gave you a Link to above,,,I Personally Explained how to find The most Direct and Cheapest Sources for ANY Product on the PLANET (Including your Beloved quicksilver singlets) Believe it or not there is NO Hidden Secerets,,,It is ALL There,,,,DIG,,, |

| mykim0 | 01-31-2011 12:36 AM | ok now i realize that it is best to get the product directly from the manufacturers. How hard is it to do this? Do most require that I have a license?
I wanted to try to buy some Diesel jeans directly from diesel but I cant find anything on their corporate website. |
| mykim0 | 01-31-2011 03:48 PM | levi strauss doe not seem to be Vero but they only accept retail stores. this really sucks |
| mykim0 | 02-03-2011 01:37 AM | is dropshipping a viable way to make money? Are there any good dropshipping websites? Im pretty desperate here. I've been searching all day and nothing. Being unemployed does not help either. |
| SaiJin | 02-03-2011 01:54 AM | Google up a liquidation company that's in New York. I forgot what it's called, but they have pallets of items for sale.
Dropshipping can work, however you are not in control of the goods yourself.
I personally do not like that, but others' who likes doing it, will know what to do. |

Has anyone dealt with viatrading.com? They have pallets of assorted clothing. Am I likely to lose money if I buy one pallet? Im sure shipping is expensive and it does not really say what items each pallet contains. |
| andreww3834 | 02-03-2011 11:50 AM | what were you selling Quote:

share the wealth |
| mykim0 | 02-03-2011 04:32 PM | Do need a Tax-ID and Resale-Certificate? If I get these, can I get product directly from the companies? |
I won't tell you what I sell because it's a cutthroat market and if you don't know how to play the game, and play better than everyone else, you will fail and I don't want to be responsible for it.
Let's just say if you look hard enough and research enough you will find something that will work out for you. The keyword is research.
It's easy to find a product that will do well... What YOU do will determine your success of it. |

It's easy to find a product that will do well... What YOU do will determine your success of it. | i dont expect anyone to tell me what to sell. I just want to know how I can get access to a product without being a brick and motar store.
Like I said i checked out companies like vibram and levi strauss and they don't accept people like me. |
Depends on the type of items you want to sell. I know a few electronic, clothes, auto parts, manufactures/suppliers. Depends.
Edit: I still recommend DHgate & Aliexpress.. Like I said... Know the rules and play better than everyone else and your success in inevitable :) |

| mykim0 | 02-04-2011 07:30 PM | lets say that i want to try get some wholesale sneakers. Can I call up a local store and strike up a deal with them? Has anyone done this? |
| holymoly | 02-05-2011 12:56 PM | ^^^won't happen, things must be bought in bulk. I.e. if I wanted to sell REAL handbags. I would need to buy around .5 MILLION DOLLARS for them to cut me a deal! |

Here is what someone said on the ebay forum
"You -have- been working in the right direction... just not asking -all- the questions you should.
Major manufacturers don't want to deal with small independent sellers because of volume, usually. The shoe distributor I worked for (2003-2008) moved over 1 MILLION prs of shoes a month. They were profitable and growing with a return rate over 30%... and they paid shipping both ways! Nothing was ever returned to the manufacturer - it was either sold, given to charity, or shredded.
What does this mean for you? It means if the manufacturer won't deal with you, ask them for the name of some of their distributors and ask them. If they won't deal with you, ask the distributors for the name of some of their bulk resale clients (and they should know who they are) that you can contact. Keep working your way down the chain until you find someone who -will- sell to you.
Be sure to do your cost and pricing homework -- your profits are made when you make your purchase, you merely collect them when you make the sale. Try reading my lens Basic Math For eBay Sellers to get an idea of the various costs/expenses you need to think about when buying and pricing your inventory. It may not be absolutely complete, but it covers a lot of things many new sellers don't think about... and end up with lower profits because of it.
Some of my other lenses go over 'alternate' sources for inventory... again, things you may not have thought about as inventory sources before.
Good Luck!
-Bob."
So the distributors are basically the retail stores right? |

No,,,Retail Stores BUY From Distributors and sell to the Public,,,,Manufactures SELL to Distributors because Distributors can Buy in LARGE Numbers,,,,
Using the Example of the Shoe Manufacture above,,,a Shoe Distributor can Buy say 10,000 Pair a Month From the Manufacture,,and you can Buy 10 Pair a Month from the Distributor so you can sell them in your Store or Ebay or Wherever,,,
Distributors are needed when you cannot meet the Volume Requirements Dictated by the Manufacture
I Wrote the VERY Same thing right Here on this Thread Months ago,,,Go back in this thread and read it.
I Also Posted the Names of some of the Biggest Consumer Electronics Distributors on this Thread,,,so Dig,,its all Here.. |

Yeah i remember you mentioning ingram micro but electronics profit margins are really low right? |
| mykim0 | 02-07-2011 12:11 PM | ok this is depressing. Just called up Vibram and Levistrauss and they both said that they dont give out distributor lists. Im guessing most companies are like this. |

That Might be because the Sell in Very Low Minimums so that you can deal with them Directly,,,Call them again and ask for their Sales Department,,,Or Just simple tell them that you Want to sell Their Products in you Store,,and tell whatever monkey That Awnsers the Phone to Find out who you need to get in touch with in order to make that happen,,,
Believe me Levi and ALL Other Companies want to Sell their Products,,,Just because some Idiot who awnsered the Phone does not Know the Awnser,,Does NOT Mean There is No Awnser,,, |
| rotcva | 02-10-2011 04:44 PM | wholesale item here... I can wholesale to you an item that is a fast seller and that is pre-priced at $20 retail for $10 or less. visit me and ask. |
