Default Dealing outside Aliexpress

Quick Q for some reassurance maybe

I bought some stuff on a guy on aliexpress, everything came in perfect and sold it.

The thing is, I want to buy more, and stick with him because I know the quality is good from my last order. His store has 500 feedback, 95% positive.

His listing got removed, he told me aliexpress took it down because they watch the power sellers. He said we can complete this deal just through paypal and to just send him the payment.

My questions are :

Is this safe enough for me just incase, I mean, i trust the guy, but do I have any recourse if something happened? The money would be right from paypal not CC.

Would this be something that is normal once you get a guy youve ordered from? Or do you always order through Ali.

Also, is it risky buying merchandise with the same paypal I use to sell it on? Probably so, but do payments overseas cause flags or anything and cause somebody to look at your account?

Thank you for anybody who can help my noobish questions.

There is always a risk with this kind of business. Don't spend more than you are willing to lose.

That said, I have made the occasional purchase outside of a secure website. I have even used Western Union, etc. I have NEVER got burned. I have only done it with small amount of money that won't ruin me if I do get burned.

Paypal is pretty safe, you can always file a dispute and as long as you trust the guy. Should be fine.

I personally would ask him to create a "dummy" listing and then buy it. That way you are protected with the site and with paypal.

he may be on the way out, so don't trust fully. I have had suppliers that have ran into trouble but kept taking orders as long as they could until it all imploded. So you can still get burned

Not saying this is the case. But trust nobody when it comes to money...

I would use PP BUT use your credit card, NOT balance. No mater what happens then CC company has your back

thanks for the replies.

I think Im going to order off another seller with high ratings for that product as well. Also 20% cheaper which always helps!

Pod: I have an option of using paypal balance or CC when using my paypal? I thought it would always come from balance and anything over would come from the linked credit card. Would be a good option if this is the case.

Thanks again

There should be an small link "other funding options" before you finalize the payment. But I'm not sure if they let you override a balance with a card. They like being in charge of the money, so if you have a balance they may force you to use it. Not 100% sure

If the guy doesn't send the item you are covered with PP too.
