No No for either of you I have researched for the last 2 years on suppliers and wholesalers, what I got out of all the tons of info, and talking to wholesalers drop shipping is the only way to go if you have no experience on eBay or Amazon. I have experience on eBay a lot and took a $6,000 course on selling on amazon and sourcing.
I ended up going to you tube to find out what the heck dropshipping was /no start up costs, no paying for storage for your products,you get unwatermarked pictures with descriptions that go with that product and then up the price. Your price minus wholesale price and if theres shipping (pack it in the price) thats your profit.Go to youtube and punch in drop ship huge profit margin and a bunch of dropshipping videos will come up.watch as many as you can weed out the negative anything in this world will have 1 person or group that thought they new everything and with a closed mind failed.you DONT want to dropship on eBay or Amazon Ebay is ...I don't even want to write it and Amazon is even stricter.
I messed up in the beginning by having big name website comp. design my site's and then after 2 years found a company that has 12 sites you can pick then after your products are all uploaded from the wholesaler they have a ticker every 5 minutes that goes to your suppliers website and update like products sold out or price changes.Basically after you pick your site (I got 2 number 10"s)upload, tell the D.S. company a percentage or dollar amount you want all new products to have, check your email at night email supplierthen they ship your product out.If the wholesalers or suppliers charge you any money RUN they are full of it we are doing them a favor.My 2 are global thats a good thing,marketing costs??? social media and blogs I have a virtual assistant on my im every day she's great I plan on doing a lot more I bought 30 domain names.

I am Chinese, had been in UK for 2 years. Just moved here Holland days ago.

As OP is a new seller in EBAY or AMAZON, better start from small, which you can DHL the sourced items from China to UK. Once EBAY accounts getting more selling allowance and business getting better, you can then invest more money by sourcing more and ship items by containers.

Normally, at the first or second month, it won't cost you much, like 2000 pounds, enough. For small quantity sourcing, normally source from 1688.com.


The prices on 1688.com, you can't get very competive, but reasonable and you can get profits by re-selling them on EBAY or AMAZON.

Sourcing from 1688.com, you need to have a Chinese bank account , which can be vertified by ALIPAY. Once you have ALIPAY, you can do everything (almost) in China. Read my previous post about ALIPAY. And alipay is not a jerk like PAYPAL.

But to start a business, have a Chinese partner, things may getting much easier. Your partner can source and quality control for you , which sometimes is really a big advantage.

I mainly sourced by myself, but my co-work still has a lot of work to do like label each parcel for easy pick-up to dispatch.

Used to live in NY. I live in china right now. Have a full time job there, sell on ebay and etsy as a part time. My experience is, after helping myself and my friends sourcing products here. Always good to have a partner in china instead of dealing with the wholesalers by email. It's much easier, much cheaper, better QC than sourcing products from the other side of the world.

My advise is very simple . Go to china yourself,do everything yourself at first,and the fee is not expensive,you could go to economy hotel to live.It is only cost you 20 uk pounds like "7 days hotel"and the sevice is good as well.

After 5 times ,you will set up a perfect system here and do not need to come here every month.
