1.Worst cop ever? Hopes he/she can simply email the "suspect" and ask for evidence. If any agency is actually considering criminal charges, you are INNOCENT until proven guilty and if they want your records, they need a warrant.

Either way, I would rule out sending anything. There is no need to "clear your name", you haven't been charged with a crime.

2. If it was eBay, requesting the information to get your account back, why would they send it from that email?

Anyone emailing you and asking for personal information is huge red flag. I would ignore it and definitely do not respond

LOL, me thinks someone is playing with your head. Open up a new yahoo account and email it with a generic "what documents are you asking for" and see if you get a reply.

I would disagree with your if OP's account wasn't also suspended at the same time they got this email. It's just as easy to spoof an email as it is to spoof a call. I could send an email from "lawenforcement@ebay.com" right now to anyone...
