ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

f**KING hELL!

This is driving me nuts, had 2 customers in a row stating, didn't work. send me imediate refund. one stated, I want my money back now, I mean now, or will complaint to ebay.

Ebayer don't F**king read the advert do they? I clearly stated that product do not work for vehicles newer than 2012, and yet customer still buy and still request refunds.

F**king morons.

On a very serious note: Dealing with customers gives me so much stress, I honestly don't know how big ebay sellers cope with this stress. any one shed any light how to distress when dealing with these morons on ebay without getting a heart attack?

Had the same problem myself. They key is to hire someone to deal with the things you do not like to do or that stress you out, so you can focus on the important things and the parts of the business you enjoy. Once I did that, it made things a lot easier, because the most stressful part of ebay is def the terrible customers you can get.

I'm reading this post and its getting me aggressive so, yeah, send me my refund too :FF:

:focus:

You have to be thick-skinned to deal with sales in general.

Those are not customers...those are scammers, big difference. I get one of these idiots every week.....and they use the same exact words, "I want a refund NOW!" or, "Refund my PayPal right away". I usually answer with a..."I apologize the item did not work, please file a return request, and I will provide you a return shipping label...once I get the item I will refund your money".

99% of the time, they don't send the item back and just keep quiet. Kill them with kindness and most of the time they back down, why stress so much?

Agreed. The more polite your are the better, don't get emotional. Tell them the hoops they NEED to jump through. I get them to pay return shipping most of the time as well. F*CK BS SCAMMERS - they're the reason it's so hard for people to get back on marketplaces in the first place - Abuse and Dump n Runs

Also wait a bit before responding. You have some time, you don't need to get angry and fire off a response right away, that'll only hurt your position. Remain calm and in control - just because they make a threat doesn't mean they have you by the balls

Exactly why I made those changes year ago and now only trying to add more people, so I can concentrate on the things that I like/good at effectively

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

I have 3 types of them:

1) Fortune hunters. If my item gets removed, they instantly request a full refund regardless if the item is good or not, and of course EB sides with them.
2) Impossible scammers. They claim the item is damaged, and damaged like an elephant stepped on the item, but it is only ONE piece of the item, that can't be damaged in transit without destroying the whole package. But EB reps do not care.
3) Smartasses. They open NIR request right after they order the item, money goes on hold, and I can't use it. When they receive item, they find some fault and keep the item, and as the money is stuck in PP, it is easy for them to get it back. And of course they never send it back.

LMFAO when they demand shiit from me I simply tell them to fukoff and I still win the cases these idiots open. Also if you know how to make fully undetected viruses simply attach it to a PDF and email the dipship with something like "please fill out for your refund" Then I just destroy their PC, but not before I take all their accts. and change all the info so they never get them back.

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

lol you should see some of the idiots I get. In one listing I put in the preview box "Message me with questions BEFORE you purchase" ( because for some reason ebay customers just go around clicking buttons buying things not know what they bought. People don't like to read ) and of course I had an idiot customer purchase. Minutes later send me 4 emails asking a bunch of questions. I decided I was going to close that account before hand anyways, so oh boy I ripped into that customer haha I said something like "CAN YOU SEE?? CAN YOU READ? EVERY QUESTION YOU ASKED IS STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION! Why didn't you ask questions before you purchased? lol It kinda felt good to stump a customer, they replied "well the listing said this". idiot Customers lol they are not always right lol

I once listed an expensive item and like clockwork...I had all kinds of people wanting me to ship the item overseas.....I just flat out told them all, "I DON'T SHIP OVERSEAS". I knew for a fact that more than half were scammers.

The best solution to difficult customers is a nice cold six pack as you answer their messages or filed complaints.

Simple... You move on to another platform. When you cannot take control of something, you change your own mindset.

Just about every platform has scammers, why would changing platform change anything? We just need to deal with these things.....beat them at their own game.

I agree, if you do eBay long enough it will make you drink or use some kind of recreational drug.

To respond to the original post I get professional buyers who know how to abuse eBay. It sucks. You just have to tell them to open the return request and go through the process. I have to admit I have had a spike in these dumb claims myself. Many knowing what they are doing to avoid the cost of sending the item back themselves because they decided they didn't want it. I know majority of them were just hoping you would refund them and they keep the item.

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

Auto parts is that kind of a business, heck, I'll bet 50% of the items bought locally over the counter are wrong and get returned, online it's going to be even worse.

EB doesn't care about their complaint, ( much less yours ) they'll just tell the buyer to fill out a NAD or something else, as long as you deal with the problem promptly nothing is going to happen to you.

Click the box that says 'return for a refund', give them a label and get over it.

Seriously, too much emotion over this.

If you can't handle this you need to find another less stressful line of product.

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

Another scammer or unreasonable customer..

Customer reported a bulb he bought fails on first use. by default sent him another bulb as a good will, and he emailed again saying he has another faulty bulb. He then said he is a car trader and knows what he is doing. Honestly. What are the chances that both bulbs bulbs we sent are faulty.

Ebayer these days have so much power and right leaving us good sellers the only option is to listen and pretending we have so much patience.

Does anyone feel the same as me when things happens on ebay, it feels as if the customer is stepping his foot on your head with his knife pointed on your neck?

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

Troublesome customers always put me on edge no matter how trivial the issue is or how at fault I might be, I just hate dealing with them. Et.sy customers 99.9% of the time are super nice, but I've found eb.ayers are.... well... morons. Vicious vile little sobs. Bonanza customers are even worse (I imagine they've been banned from eb.ay lol)

But to me I'd rather deal with them than people in a shop face to face. I worked out of my parents shop for a while when I first started and you would get more than just these irritating little specimens. You'd get thieves, gypsies, addicts, irritating kids, that woman who thinks she knows what trading standards law is (you know her, typical blonde middle aged woman in a 4x4) and of course, the unemployed, elderly and disabled who just want someone to talk to.... for 3 hours.

Over the years I've refined my processes so that little to nothing can go wrong, so the odd unhappy customer over eb.ay is not that bad when I look back on the idiots I've had to refund face to face.

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

Try to be as clear as possible on your listing thread. If the incompatibility is the main issue for you. Put it in bold on the listing and set a 10% restocking fee or something like that for refunds.

Re: ebay customers getting more and more AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!

I think as customers get more familiar with how easy a claim will lean into their favor, they are more and more brazen in what they try to get away with. There are whole categories of items I stopped selling (that paid so well) just because there were so many people who bought with a new user ID, pretended to be new at buying, asked "will this work for xyz because I need to use it asap" and then as soon as it arrives they say it doesn't work and refund me NOW before I open a dispute, knowing full well how damaging a dispute is and how they have me by the short and curlies. Its so frustrating, because it would take a whole week of selling to cover the losses from one item, and if someone really was disappointed in a damaged or defective unit, they'd be fine with returning it for a refund. It is really brutal, and of course Eb pushes as much of the burden on to the seller as they possibly can get away with, just to keep their $'s up. The profit margins have to get higher and higher to cover all of this, and if Ebay was playing a long game they'd settle for lesser burdens on the sellers and hold onto them longer.
