Buyer opened return request before receiving.

I just received this message:

I need a refund for this item! This is a scam... these are not 100% authentic like mentioned on your description. I just bought the originals from and they smell different, a look different- I want a refund NOW.

-The problem is, the item just left the post office yesterday, the buyer has received nothing. I can already tell this will be a scam, a return with nothing but trash or paper in it. What should I do?

contact USPS or whatever you used right now to get it back.

As long as you didn't sell the buyer a counterfeit item, just call Ebay and explain the situation. They'll take care of the buyer for you.

You can try what MM said also. I wish you the best with that. I've never been able to get a shipment back once it goes out.

You will not be able to retrieve the item, they will still send the parcel, I tried to get A full mail sack today due to wrong postage, for security reasons they would not let me

I think if the OP explains the situation, they can try and get it back...BUT the buyer is probably counting on the fact the it will be difficult to get the item back.

The OP is in the USA, I'm sure the rules are different from the UK.

yea i tried to reroute package wouldnt do it contact eb show them tracking that they dont even have it yet this will help u

I am calling now and I don't think it will work. The only plausible solution that lets me keep the item-100 authentic and worth about $100- would be to have an out of country return address. I will wait to see what she says when she gets it but I am so pissed about it already.

Explain to the Rep that this person is trying to scam you and you really need to get the item back somehow, don't give up.

Highly doubt it, lol. You've got to be a top 10,000 seller to even be considered for Concierge. I was only lucky enough to be invited on one account.

With that being said though, this is the sort of thing a regular overseas Ebay rep would be happy to assist with. 10 minute phone call and the problem would be taken care of.

If I feel like I am being scammed, I have it shipped to my aunt in the UK- either they never send the item since there is then an option for me to pay for the label AFTER delivery and IF they do, if it is not what they received- crap- scammers don't pay for international tracking, so I let the case close out.

In the cases where they are legitimate, I send a refund back via paypal.

Basically, an intl address puts the buyer at the same risk as the seller- most scammers won't deal with doing work and not getting the money and the item so they don't respond.

It's why chinese sellers on ebay do so well, they don't really have intl returns coming back in.

I hear you on that and I agree. But the original package had a USA return address on it, right?

Overall I think you've got a good strategy. But if I had to return something and the seller insists I return it to a country other than the country I purchased the item from AND that I pay for the international postage, I'd get on the phone with Ebay immediately. That's never been a problem for you?

Nope, I just tell them that I am on vacation and will receive the parcel there.

Just ask EB to escalate it, it is a clear scam. If tracking shows that the item is not delivered, and customer says it is delivered 1 day after the purchase from another part of the globe, they will close the case in your favor. Seems like this guy sent a template to everyone he scammed that day, but messed up his records.

OP is in the USA... they CAN intercept parcels.

There are only certain carriers in the UK that do it to.

Keep us informed on what happens OP, if you get fukd I will tell you how to fuk eBay/PP back and get allot more back than what they stole from you...I enjoy these kind of games with these billion dollar companies
