Customer has been using item I sold them for over a week and states it has problems,
 
Sold the item as no returns no refunds brand new sealed never opened. Now he has been using it for 7 days in a row and claims problems with unit. I sold about 40 of these brand new sealed with no problems. No he is gonna open a case with Paypal , what can I do to protect myself?

You can't protect it, better accept the return to avoid unneeded defects in your account.

As zuchowski123 stated you cant do much. You can try to fight the case but it is almost always more of a hassle then it is worth and you lose.

You can thank Costco, Norstrom's, Walgreens here in the states for that idiotic mentality.

Seller protection is a joke when they always favor the buyer

It is what it is.
Its a part of doing business on ebay.
Accept the return and avoid the negative feedback if at all possible and move on.
