Default Ebayer asks "is this item good?"

haha.. I just want to share with you guys or ask you guys for your opinion on this.

Received an enquiry from a customer asking "if this item is good?"

I replied telling him, this brand is a big brand and a very well know within the market bla bla bla. For technical reason, i don't want to go into too much detail.

Then he replied saying, I just want one word, is good or no?

What do you guys do, do you just say yes?

In my opinion, it's a bit of a scam alert! or at least prone to have problems with this customer if he do buy the item..

Your opinion?

I guess it depends on the item or what the item does or what. I don't even answer dumb questions. If I had to give an answer, I would say, "The item is good".

Item is good

Would be my reply. Although people that ask really strange questions also sometimes find themselves blocked as they tend to be the most trouble to deal with

True - also worth considering is that the buyer may have been burned in the past and wants to make sure the item is genuine....

I usually never reply them, just block them to avoid possible trouble.

Usually plays out like this:

Them: "Its good?"

You: "Yes"

They get it.

Them: "THE ITEM IS DAMAGED/BROKEN/BELONGED TO MY DOG!"

Chargeback / case / PITA

Ebay auto sends money back to buyer by using you own messages against you -_-

Asking the initial question is strange enough. Demanding a one word answer from you in addition deserves a block. You are not his personal item tester to determine which items are good or bad for him.

Block Block Block
They are already trouble. Either they are a skeptic and are new to ebay and afraid of buying something on line or they have bought something that arrived and was damaged or different. Either way, they are already questioning you and your item. I see red flags.

the ones that then send a second question, asking why you did not answer and that it is not courteous, often send my finger hovering over the FU%£ buttons.......

the ones I get the most are, can I ship to their country (derrr look at the listing) and why does it cost such and such to post, the calculation is lower....

I would still block him if i was him . Usually those buyers are annoying anyways. He should add insurance if he decides to sell to these kind of buyers.

From my experience, 90 percent of the people asking about the product such as "is it new in box" when my description already shows that, the person is a scammer or is just trying to buy my item and have it shipped to one of his customers

I can see the patterns of scammers a mile away and it never fails. Too many questions means they are already setting up an Ebay/ paypal case. The whole "item never arrived" then when that doesnt work, they will file the "item is defective case" Just my experience
