0 Feedback harrasment

Hi,

Please forgive me if this is not allowed.

We sell a lot of computer equipment over a range of different accounts. Since Christmas we were having brand new 0 feedback accounts pop up and were winning every single item. They would bid with two different accounts, bid the price up to more than it was worth and then not pay.

I know its a targeted attack as instead of names they jut put ",,,," and the usernames are similar.

To start, I thought this was an attack against us, but it's happening to almost everyone that sells IT stuff on ebay. Just a quick look on today completed items in the computers category (these aren't mine) shows at least 5 items sold to these accounts in the last hour:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/1...p2047675.l2565

http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/2...p2047675.l2565

http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/3...p2047675.l2565

http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/2...p2047675.l2565

If you click on the bidder you can see there is clearly something fishy, bidding on over 100 items and thats just one account:

The problem is he just keep opening new accounts, so as soon as you block it they just make a new one.

I'm confused whats going on. 20 of my items today on different accounts were hijacked! ebay don't care, they don't want to know.

Anyone else experiencing this??? I'm so confused whats going on.

This seems to be a competitor and it seems they also know a little bit of stealth. I would say that if you see a suspicious bidder like these people that you cancel their bid quickly.

Yes that's what I thought. But it's been going on for over 8 months, it must be a full time job for them?

We tried cancelling bids but they bid right in the last few seconds so we are often not quick enough.

It's annoying that you can get banned from selling for the smallest mistake but then ebay will let someone do this...

Any advice?

so you cancel their bid and block em right away.

On each of my browsers (Firefox) I have setup a link on the Bookmark tool bar a link to my block page where I can add people quickly.

OP

You need to get eBay on the phone or at least via their chat.
First hand experience: Explain the situation to them if you are absolutely certain it's the same people and usually the rep will not only suspend those accounts, they'll take the negatives off .

Thanks for the response. As the previous post said the guy knows some stealth, as the accounts get suspended and then he just makes a new one using different names. No joke I've seen over 800 different accounts from him.

They don't leave bad feedback, no messages. They just bid and don't pay. its so weird.

Could I trouble you Next TIME to add

"Warning eBay link"

I never open such links unless warned.

Maybe send a Moderator a note to add such a message for you.
TIA.

What steps do you have in place for purchase?

Pardon me but I have not fully read the entire thread but the question is good, imho.

What are your payment preferences? PayPal with immediate payment. OR contact seller if feedback less than five.

Not just you, but everyone selling. Keep the power in your hands....
and go hunt the bar stewards.

Re: 0 Feedback harrasment

Every buyer requirement set including paypal and credit card.

Problem is, they make like 10 new accounts a day. So ebay don't pick up quick enough. So they can bid freely with the new account, as no matter what buyer requirements you have you can't block 0 feedback accounts which I understand.

Straight after the auction ends you get a "MC067 Suspicious buyer for item email".

Yep when you see a fishy bid block the username straight away and cancel bid, hopefully they will get bored with the cat and mouse game after a while
