do ebay share info with PayPal anymore
 

as the two are now separate companies do they share sensitive info on there customers ? i have been banned for life so called by ebay and PayPal, but have managed to set up about 4 or 5 ebay accounts and use them to buy, and have gained feedback up to over 250 on some accounts, so not massive, but are usable, i wondered if i could set up a stealth PayPal account and link the ebay account to it ? but saying that i have used these ebay accounts on the same IP address and i want to use my stealth PayPal on a mifi or 4g sim card

So at this point there's nothing you or we can do......We can try and put in a call and tell them to stop sharing info but that may not work.

I mean, it's the same phone number to call ebay or paypal... so, umm, I'd suppose info is still shared.

I know what you are thinking and it's risky.

Have you read the ebay stealth yet? If not, I highly recommend it as it'll cover a ton of headaches for you in the future.

Yes. If you think their sharing is illegal why you should call the attorney general of the US immediately and get him to prosecute them for that. I think his last name is Sessions...

I'm not clear just what exactly is illegal about it, they gave themselves permission to share your info in the User Agreement you have to agree to just by using the site...

User agreements usually cover everything, unless its something rare and new, which they update pretty quick if they have an issue that's not in the user agreement.

As part of the separation agreement, they will share data for 3 more years.

Yes... Treat eBay and PayPal as ONE entity. Despite them being separate entities, they share FAR more info with each other than you realise.

That's 3 years minimum, I'm afraid. There's nothing that stipulates that they won't share data after that.

I would be alarmed if my payment processor isn't sharing data with my selling platforms. The two have to share data in order for the two platforms to work as efficiently together as they do.

Heck, even my Auth.net payment gateway shares data with eBay (and vice versa) and those two companies have nothing to do with each other. When I linked my Auth.net account to eBay I gave the two companies permission to share data - just as is the case when you link a Paypal account to your eBay for payment processing.

Do you guys really want eBay and Paypal to share zero data? You realize that would mean manually logging into Paypal every day and looking for new payments, because your eBay sales records would never update to reflect a "paid" order if Paypal can't tell eBay your customer has paid.

It's a necessary evil for payment processors to communicate with selling platforms. End of story, lol.
