Whats the most amount of packages you have had to ship?
 

So i put my store on vacation mode, and changed handling time to 5 business days, currently i have 104 orders to ship. and we dont come back from cruise until sunday. ( great for business ) but i try to stay under the radar and would hate to have acct red flagged for shipping..
Any thoughts?

I know your pain. During Christmas last year I averaged 5 USPS plastic carry crates a night from Black Friday till New Years. Stupid money, but hard ass work, nonetheless.

I was actually more worried about letting my packages stack up that high, i usually do same day shipping. with me being gone for a week, im at 111 need to ship now, i just didnt want ebay to red flag me for it being that high and me not shipping.. ( i have checked over and over, handing times are 5 business days and vacation mode is on ) - I just hate the though of getting pinged from ebay for having that many packages needing to ship.

The # of packages waiting isn't what's going to hurt you. The damage to your "on-time" shipping metric on your next seller evaluation is where this is going to hurt. eBay gives you the option to disable sales on vacation mode and I think that's probably what you should have done. If you normally ship the same day then I'm assuming your listings have either a same-day or 1-day handling time. So if that's the case you already have 111 late shipments, which depending on your overall volume can easily take your account below standard.

With that being said I can tell your for certain they aren't going to suspend you just because you have a lot of orders, especially since you configured vacation mode. We had power knocked out for a week last year after a hurricane and had 600+ orders awaiting shipment on one account when I was finally able to login again. Luckily since eBay was aware of the USPS outages in my area I wasn't penalized...

Geez! I'm jealous. Was just celebrating hitting 75 items recently and that was over a weekend across a few accounts. You guys always let me know I can step it up.

I completely understand. They shouldnt flag you as long as you are in your shipping parameters. They really dont matter the overall. They simply evaluate during the month time. You should be fine. Just be glad you have a nice niche and orders that are coming in that nicely.

Thats what i wanted to hear, that you had 600 unshipped packages. I do have vacation mode on, and handling times, i just never let them pile up.
Out of pure curiosity how long did it take to ship 600 orders :)

Lol, I had an awesome sale running, I normally have between 20 - 30 daily, but we were on a cruise so it was stacking pretty high..
Also, i realized everyone likes to get something more, i learned if i raise my prices then have 50% sale and free shipping my items get sold.
not sure if you have tried sales. they work like a charm for me :)
But yes growth and goals is wonderful I am hoping to hire an employee by end of year to help with listing and photographing ( my least favorite part )

Big accounts ship thousands of packages a day. It is not the number but the percentage. Same as feedback. 300 negative feedback in a month is no big deal if you have 6000 positive for example.

With me and two others filling it only took us like 12 hours to get everything out. Mostly small, easy to fill stuff so like 20 seconds per shipment.

Yeah I did miss the part about your handling time. You're good. :thumb:

I have a friendly competitor who ships on average 1000 items a day out of his condo from November to February. It's him, his wife, his in laws, and a part time employee working 5-6 hours a day just packing stuff. He sells $10-$30 items with 500% markup, so he's making bank. Went from being bankrupt to driving a Mercedes S class and having a 7 figure bank account in about 3 years.

At one point I was shipping out a container worth of products after each weekend.

i average about 5 items a day and i tough i was doing good lol lol what are you guys selling?? i guess my niche its kind of limited perhaps i need to sell items more open to everybody.
what categories or types of products do you guys sell to get to the awesome numbers??

He started out with junk jewelry and now he's moved on to contract manufacturing accessories for children's fashion.

Remember, it's not how many packages you send out, it's how much $ you take home in the end. I have this $1 item I sell for $5 including shipping, which I don't make any money on but it's fantastic to build up accounts. I can literally send out 10x what I do now if I sold nothing but that.

If you have your shipping set at 5 days and have them out within 5 days, I don't see what the problem is
