Hello Fine Aspkin Members,

Long story short, added a trac phone to an ebay and paypal account. Called in and the number was not able to be used to verify my account because it is related to many accounts, mostly suspended

New to me, but figured I would share my experience.

That was a royal pain in the rear to resolve. Good thing I made the account in my real name and was able to talk through the address not found in data base and why I am using a prepaid phone.

It has been a very interesting conversation to say the least.

We argued about what my name was because my name was not related to the telephone number. I was able to data base verify the account but I dont expect it to last long.

No Holds on transactions though. First time I ever experienced no holds on a new account on every sale.

I am wondering if the rural area zip code I am using has a small pool of telephone numbers and are more likely to be recycled. This phone number gets call for three different people. Debt collectors, what seems to be drug dealer/users and collect calls from Detention centers lol

With all the phone numbers out there, that's a crazy coincidence. Has this happened to anyone else?

Surprised they gave you a hard time once you were able to verify the database question. That should overcome their problem with your number.

Could be the rural zip code you are using. In general I try to stay away from tracfone, they are overused and the numbers over recycled in my opinion

Seem good. But isn't its make trouble in Future security verification ?.

I think I am going to stick with real phones with a real service on any accounts I plan on using long term. The $20 or $40 a month is worth it

The stealth guide recommends Tracfone. Is that now no longer true? How often is it updated?

Someone say it was no longer recommended? Updates are done by Aspkin, only he knows how often it gets updated.

OP said he had a problem getting verified with it. That's all I know.

So here is what might have happened.....TracFone probably and most likely recycles phone numbers....just like any other phone Company. Most likely the OP got a number that had already been used before with Ebay and PayPal.

Now, when you see 60-100 people say the same thing....that's when you should start to worry.
