Many buyers with Incorrect Address..

So I have had quite a few buyers with an incorrect address, many missing APT numbers recently. It still amazes me how many fools make a purchase with an incorrect address.

I have my settings set to next business day shipping

Does Ebay Still count it as a late shipment if its delayed due to the customer not having a correct valid address?

As far as I know they will still most likely count it as late shipment. Has anybody had any experience with this issue?

Re: Many buyers with Incorrect Address..

You need to cancel those orders with the reason "there was an issue with the buyer's shipping address", or you will be penalized for late shipments.

There's nothing to be amazed about. Most buyers who give a bad address do so on purpose for one reason or another. Sometimes it's because they've had an account banned before and are afraid to give their real address to eBay again. Sometimes it's because the buyer isn't able to "confirm" the address they want the order shipped to, so they message you the address after checkout. Sometimes it's buyers who are using forwarding companies, where the "apt #" is actually their virtual mailbox # at the forwarding company.

Either way, it violates both eBay and Paypal terms of service if you ship orders to ANY address other than the exact address given by the buyer at checkout. By shipping to an address other than the address on the sales record you disqualify yourself for both eBay and Paypal seller protection. You need to cancel those orders and tell the buyer to reorder with their proper shipping address. If they don't reorder they were probably trying to deceive you in some way.

Re: Many buyers with Incorrect Address..

Many of my items are priced at over $700 so of course I use Signature Confirmation to cover myself. I also state (CLEARLY) and in BOLD on my listings that the buyers address MUST match both PayPal and eBay and be verifiable (via USPS) and valid.

If I find this not to be the case, I will attempt to contact the buyer to seek clarification. They have 24 hours to respond, otherwise the order is canceled with the reason of "there was an issue with the buyer's shipping address".

Yes -- you need to cancel. Try calling the customer or writing them to get the correct address.
