So, if I set the return preference, return label paid by seller, then I won't have this stupid automatic approved return BS is that correct? Did anyone set this option, and no more of this automatic return BS???? Thanks. | Buyer faulted returns are now automatically approved regardless of your settings. (changed mind, wrong size, found better price)
But you can adjust automatic approval settings for seller faulted returns still. (INAD, doesn't seem authentic, arrived broken, etc..)

| glacier922 | 03-27-2018 09:50 AM | Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay I just reset all my listings to return shipping paid by seller, won't that prevent that from automatically approved and then sent to stealth address? Biggest issue is being sent to stealth address. |

Biggest issue is being sent to stealth address. | That's not going to prevent anything - what you did was probably a bad idea. Since you set it where you pay for all returns, eBay will now automatically approve and automatically charge you for buyer faulted returns. You need to go back, lol.
If your primary concern is returns being shipped to a stealth address, the obvious solution is to add an accessible return address to your eBay account. Why not do that? It's the only real solution here since sellers no longer have any control over buyer-faulted returns. They're automatically approved no matter what you do. |
| glacier922 | 03-27-2018 03:50 PM | Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay hmmmm, ok, I'll have to add a secondary address for returns. Is there an option to do that off the top of your head? not at my computer now. |
| nodeal | 03-27-2018 10:08 PM | Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay I did not want to add the same return address for all my accounts. Is that what people are doing? No issues with linking accounts?
What I did was set the listing to no returns. When you do this, eBay will not automatically approve returns. My sales have not been affected thankfully. |

Yes you can easily add a new address and delete your stealth address.
"No returns" sounds good on paper until eB or PP force your hand and make you accept a return. |
Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay Deleting the stealth address and adding new address works fine as long as not repeatedly done in short periods of time |
| nodeal | 03-28-2018 10:11 AM | Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay So if I am running 100 accounts, it is okay to delete my stealth address and add my return address on all of them? |

I know this may sound like account suicide but with eBay being 80% dropshippers it's extremely common for them to see the same return address across multiple accounts (such as an FBA warehouse or another fulfillment center). |

We discussed this a while back, but I have forgotten exactly which way it works. :( |

@nodeal - have you processed any buyer-faulted returns since setting your listings to "no returns"? Curious what happens. :ranger: |
| ebaystealth1974 | 03-28-2018 10:31 AM | Re: Returns automatically approved on eBay "Can I use my own label if my preferences are set to automatically approve return requests and I refund the buyer?
No. If your preferences are set to automate any portion of the return process, including offering a replacement, an automatic eBay label will be sent to the buyer for return shipping. You may only use your own label in cases where you manually approve returns."

No, you don't want to put the same address onto eBay itself, contacting them via normal email can work until one of those buyers is going to act like a baby and report you.
The easiest solution is to have multiple PO boxes for return. Seems to be the cheapest. | If you have no returns set, and they open a remorse return, then ebay will close that out. Period. |

@nodeal - have you processed any buyer-faulted returns since setting your listings to "no returns"? Curious what happens. :ranger: | I have come across many buyer faulted returns i.e. "Item does not fit", "Changed my mind about item", etc. -- all things that were generating labels automatically to my registered stealth return address when my listing allowed returns.
Since changing my listings to No Returns Accepted, I have not encountered any issues with eBay generating the return label automatically. Once the return is opened by the customer (no matter the reason), I am given the option to handle it how I want, and no return label is automatically forced to the customer.
Maybe one day eBay will change how they work this, or Force me to accept returns on my listings, but until that day comes I will continue operating with No Returns. I was worried sales would be affected but honestly they have not at all. I communicate in my listing clearly my actual return policy, and customers don't seem to shy away. |
