| | | sluster2016 | 12-24-2017 05:29 PM | Geez People Leave Feedback.. I opened my new stealth in Sept, with hurricane stuff I didnt list my first item until Thanksgiving.
As of today I have sold 9 items, still taking a hit, customers are getting name brand items, some with tags, SUPER cheap. waiting on my first positive feedback..
I checked the feedback they left for others, NONE - all 9 buyers just dont leave feedback.. The 3 I sold today, I even included thank you cards and threw in some cheap goodies hoping to get feedback.
Hard to start doing what you want when you are stuck on 0 feedback..
I wanted to increase my prices, charge shipping on some, etc |
| oompaloompa | 12-24-2017 05:50 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. I think on ebay I get about 20% rate of fb without asking, I do not ask, as I dont care
so you should have got 1 fb by now, but you will get a couple soon..
Az is way way worse, think it is more like 2% without asking |
| empirestate | 12-24-2017 06:00 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. More like 5% for eBay... |
| BigCJ | 12-24-2017 06:03 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. entice them by offering partial refunds or a 'free' item that you can afford to lose. |
| nickopedia | 12-24-2017 09:01 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. For me, it's about 50/50 for customers, but I usually send messages to all my buyers advising when they should receive their order, tracking #, etc. Some of those to respond with a simple "thank you".
Feedback isn't always guaranteed. I don't think eBay take it too much into consideration as they used to back in the day. I sometimes see sellers with horrible feedback (less than 80%) still selling like gangbusters. |
| yankee | 12-24-2017 09:26 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. forget about feedback. it has zero value. best feedback is no feedback at all. I charge shipping and sell for profit from day one. No need to mess around and loose money for worthless feedback. Have sales and feedback comes naturally. |

So right now im taking low ball offers, my old acct i had over 4000k positive, i didnt read them.
this go around is so slow to get one.. |
| walkingupwards | 12-25-2017 08:52 AM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. Rate of feedback was around 30% for my main account. |
| dallis | 12-25-2017 11:13 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. No FB is 100% positive.
Don't worry about it, it's meaningless in pretty much every sense of the word.
People who nag me for feedback are likely to get it - not that I'd be dishonest, but it's often better for the seller if I don't go out of my way to be honest, if you know what I mean...
If you can't say something nice, it's often better not to say anything at all. :) |

A Seller with good feedback will show up first when a customer searches for a product. |

Please do tell us exactly where this fits into the Cassini algorithm? |

Lots of speculation and contradictions though especially if you read the comments. |

Keep putting those thank you cards and asking for feedback in your packages, they do work. |
Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. Kifeedback is the way to go. I can guarantee at least 45% feedback will be received.
Just make sure to change the reminder dates within the application so that the reminders don’t go out too soon.

| nickopedia | 12-27-2017 02:10 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. I don't think feedback matters that much for visibility in search results because I often see lots of zero fb sellers, or others with less than 90% good fb showing up ahead of my listings even though I have 100% fb and account age is years longer.
Sometimes those darn zero fb sellers get stellar visability in search.
Trying to guess eBay's "Secret Sauce" i.e. Cassini is not as straightforward. Just too many variables to consider. |
| phaz0rz | 12-27-2017 02:17 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. New sellers get a boost to give them a fighting chance against established sellers. After they've been selling for a few weeks new accounts are ranked by the same mysterious metrics as the rest of us. I've witnessed it myself every time I've started off with a new account. |
| dallis | 12-28-2017 03:16 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. can anyone actually tell how anything fits into the Cassini algorithm?
Kind of my point. :)
New accounts do get a boost, I've also had the results also, and new accounts rarely have any substantial seller feedback. |

While it "looks" good to certain potential buyer, most dont even look at it. I've had maybe 5 percent of customers actually message me about feedback. Of those 5 percent, most were scamming or looking for a big discount to extort. They are typically "those" customers we all dread to see coming. Always looking for something to complain about or get off on overpowering someone. This really holds true if you sell in "upper class" categories. They treat it as the country club. |

make bids so you dont seem sus | Buying feedback is not even seen to a buyer. You need seller feedback. Buyer feedback is a pure waste of time and money. |
| Pashington | 01-03-2018 08:43 AM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. i also rarely receive feedbacks. have an idea to use a feedback reminder tool. but i little bit fear that tool will give me negative impact as well. |
| forcesteeler | 01-04-2018 02:38 PM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. I have been selling for over 20 Years.
In my experience Buyers rarely care about feedback, People just want the cheapest price.
Example Take for example Spirit Airlines, There Costumer service is horrible, 1 Star Ratings and there service is barebones. But They are the most profitable US Airlines because there airfare is extremely cheap. That is all people care about.
You had another airline like Virgin Airlines that had excellent customer service, Food was good quality, but there airfare was expensive when you compared it to the other airlines and Virgin is now bankrupt and finish.
So not to be long winded it all comes down to price when making a sale!. Don't worry so much about feedback especially if you are offering cheap prices. |

Had 3-4 accounts with less than 10 feedbacks, and they're like 5-6 months old from the 1st sales. And yeah, most people just buy right away without looking for your seller feedback, as long as you're selling it CHEAP. :d |
| ddkitty | 01-07-2018 09:12 AM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. I was a buyer on ebay for the majority of my ebay existence until I became a seller. I don't leave feedback for a seller unless they left me feedback first. I feel as a buyer you made your payment and did your part and that person is giving you business. Don't wait for the buyer to leave you feedback first. Now that I am seller, I still abide by those rules. I leave all my buyers feedback as soon as they pay regardless of issues that arise after. For a seller not to leave a buyer feedback is like saying "you don't deserve positive feedback unless you like your item and leave me feedback first". About 70% of my buyers leave feedback in return, the others could care less and that's okay. I don't ask for them to leave me feedback, it's up to them if they want to or don't want to. After you get enough feedback that implies your a trusted seller, it doesn't really matter. |
| nickopedia | 01-07-2018 09:16 AM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. I'd also like to chime in to say that most buyers don't seem to even care about (nor read) feedback. Heck, I've repeatedly seen sellers selling the same items as me, some of them with TERRIBLE FB (under 80%) and doing better than my accounts that are 100%
The difference may be price. Feedback seems to mean little. |

How's that? |

| forcesteeler | 01-09-2018 09:03 AM | Re: Geez People Leave Feedback.. Also understand that on Ebay, Buyers have a more incentive to leave feedback than on amazon, because buyers can get postive feedback also, Where as in amazon, you cannot leave postive or negative feedback, So usually on amazon, you can little to no feedback and you will definitely get feedback when there is a problem!. | | All times are GMT -5.
