What does "USPS picked up item" mean?

Buyer opened a dispute and said the tracking said delivered but he never received it.

I looked at the tracking history and it doesn't say it was delivered instead it said this: https://gyazo.com/b2d4627f71100ac56a99f2f5ca6bc167

What exactly does it mean that usps picked up item? Does that mean the buyer picked up the item?

IS the package delayed or something?

It seems like it is still with USPS - have you tried calling them?

Either in transit or it hit a snag with the post office.
Every time I got this, usually is just a delay.
With the nutty weather the US is having, it could be that. Call them to force a trace.

USPS picked up item doesn't mean the buyer picked up the item?

not yet. is it okay to call with a stealh account? I shipped it with the stealth name.

Doesn't matter if it's stealth, you just need the tracking number.

If it's at the end of the post office process, this means they didn't scan it at the point of delivery.

It also means you can't prove it was delivered. You'll lose any case.

That said, you have a few days to see what happens or to dicker before the case closes on its' own.

Call the post office where it disappeared, ask to speak to a supervisor, see if you can get them to talk to the route driver and find where they left it, they've been known to find it sometimes and finish the delivery.

This looks like a USPS screwup. I seriously doubt you'll win any case OR locate the package. Chances are it was already delivered.

"USPS picked up item" or "USPS in possession of item" is the first scan all of our shipments get. This appears to be a mistake. We've had a number of instances where the carrier marks a shipment as "picked up" when it was actually "delivered". I would bet the customer had mail going out the same day your order arrived, and the carrier forgot to switch their scanner from "pick up" to "deliver" mode.
