You call ebay and see what can be done about it.

try a different browser, or send a cancellation request instead of a Unpaid item reminder.

Either way he cannot respond since he is no longer registered on ebay.

I will try that method. I prefer not contacting ebay directly for obvious reasons

I would give it a few days and then try again on a new browser

If that still doesn't work just give eBay a quick call

Going to have to call. No way around it I see, unless you clear your cookies and use a different browser and the filing the case works.

The buyer sent me a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal noticiation stating that the item was paid for and wanted it shipped right away. I knew it was a scam right away and played around with him. I told him I would drive down and drop it off to him directly even though he is 500 miles away. That I would go out of my way and wait until he gets back from vacation..etc..

The issue is that he intentionally terminated his ebay account and I am left with the seller fee

I would just call ebay. They are not going to try to ID you over this. Just explain your situation and they should be able to take are of it or tell you what the issue is that is preventing them from fixing it.

eBay (and especially PayPal) are full of occasional "glitches" of their GUI from time to time. This is one of the times you need to call them to override to close the sale and receive your FVF money back.

You either scrap the account (if possible), or you call eBay (wait on hold/pray you get a rep who actually knows anything).
