eBay took the loss?
 

I have never seen something like this but it might be usual for people selling 100s items a month and having cases opened for not received item.

My story short:

- sold an item on ebay.com, shipped with tracking
- after a few weeks customer opened case for item not received
- trakng shows item delivered since 10 days

eBay yesterday closed the case leaving the money in my account and refunding the buyer at eBay cost :shocked:

Is it really the way it usually works or is something odd?

Doesn't happen all the time, but so long as you have followed their policy for delivery then it does happen now and then :)

it just a one time courtesy ebay offer to new buyers, if buyer misuse it they close the account

@OP - This was a clear cut case of a seller being covered by seller protection. It's not uncommon - it's their policy.
