I stopped selling on eBay

I will let all of my existing listings expire and not list another new item on it anymore. It is not worth my time and profit margin is going slimmer every year with traffic going down hill at the same time. Good luck to all who are still struggling with this platform.

More buyers for me! :)

(and the crowd roars!!!)

Seriously, you can't do what you've always done. You have to constantly change to meet changing market demands.

Otherwise you get left behind.

If your margins are lagging, figure out why, and make the changes necessary to get more market share or move into a more profitable product line.

This is a game for people who don't sit on their past achievements, who constantly strive to move onward to better things. Yesterday's big seller is tomorrow's dusty dog.

They (although not all) also like to snatch your picture if you have a good one. I use professional camera to take pics of my inventory and regularly would see a Chinese seller selling my product with my own picture for 10% of the price with free ePacket delivery :d

That's why you can watermarked/stamp it to avoid theft

Not sure if they enforce it, but ebay says no more watermarks in pics.

Yeah, and before anyone asks:

*WARNING*
*direct eBay links below!*

Hidden watermarks are still a good idea, I'd wager. Just a way to prove the image is yours should you need to DMCA another vendor.

Back when I first started, some d1ckface phuck copied my picture and listing. I reported him, but since my listing had sold out at out time...and I had to relist it.. they said that HE was the original, since his listing was older than mine! hahaha

Even though I showed them the original, unedited photo. Dumba55es!

I can't say I'm surprised.

You can register your pictures with ebay and vero anyone who uses them. No joke.

Wish I would have known that back then.

What if I include in my picture text that I am a US seller? :) No way Chinese could use it.

Or you can have your ebay name etc.. in the picture.

Many Chinese sellers are shipping from the US now, so that wont be much of a deterrent.

I'm tired of always having to keep an eye on the market trying to figure out what is more profitabble. I'd rather spend my time learning SEO and doing social media marketing selling in a market I have passion in. And yes the Chinese from mainland China are destroying the market and that's why I will no longer source from China. Do not mix the Hong Kongers with the Chinese from mainland communist Chinese like you wouldn't call a Taiwanese a Chinese and Australians British. Hong Kongers were sold by the British and we never had the right to vote for our government.

Re: I stopped selling on eBay

I'm doing a lot better on other platforms because the customers on eBay are only for the rock bottom low price. Where customers on else where are for product variety and great customer service.

The category limit and selling limit on eBay is also a joke.

SEO doesn't do any good if you don't have anything people want at a price they're willing to pay.

Anyone who doesn't care enough to keep an eye on their market is going to fail, which so far it seems you have.

Passion is meaningless. I'll sell toothpaste if it has a decent profit margin.

This is why you can't make it on EB, and if you can't make it there, you probably can't make it anywhere else.

Now...no. That's not really fair. I don't care if something makes money if it doesn't bring me joy or is a market I like to work in. You may be the type that can sell or will sell anything, a lot of us aren't. I personally only make and design items I like - it's my passion and what I am good at. It makes so I look forward to going to work every day.

If they can find a niche or build a business around something they like, good for them.
