Default Aged ebay account query

Just got a 6 month old account sorted on ebay. Account has sold items and has 100 percent positive seller feedback. When I go and first login to this account sometime tomorrow it'll be using a brand new fresh Dedicated IP. Should I refrain from listing immediately or since the account is 6 months old and has feedback and will have search history (from a different IP of course) does that mean I can list immediately?

I would at least browse around eBay for a day or two on the new IP if I were you.

You will need to treat the account like any other new account. Build cookies before trying to list etc.

An aged account that hasn't been selling anything in awhile means little to nothing. It should be regarded as a new account.

Ah ok. So what exactly is the purpose of an aged account that has sold before? Does it just look not quite as suspect when listing an item in a new category for the first time since I've sold items before and got positive feedback?

It really depends on what has been sold previously versus what you are planning to unload on it.

An aged account with seller feedback has less chance of being limited than an account with none but if you are planning on selling high risk items, the previous sales history is somewhat irrelevant.

That makes sense.

I'd say the item I'm listing is low/medium risk. I know people who have sold it that have only gotten the item removed numerous times and got 30 day suspensions but they had the item to auto list over and over after this period and it listed automatically and got removed but only got another 30 day violation and account was never fully suspended.

Sounds like it's a VeRo item if folk are having their listings removed and being hit with 30 day suspensions.

You might want to change your interpretation of what is a low / medium risk item.

I reckon the account will be toast inside of 3 months. Ask yourself if the money you can make from the items is worth the outlay.

Yeah I just need about a week to max out my quantity limits. For example this weekend I'd probably sell 400 or so and would shift the rest over the course of the week. I have a 1000 limit account with 20k sales value but items are only about 3 quid each and cost me nothing to acquire.

I also sell these items I acquire for free to other sellers who sell them on ebay so I make money that way to but obviously I'd make more selling them at 3 quid each rather than 1 quid each that I bulk sell to these users.

Bare in mind you may well get 21 day holds on the account

If your selling something really high risk and you expect the account to be shut down pretty fast its likely that the PayPal will also get limited

You then may have a limited PayPal with lots of funds stuck inside and if you cannot get it unlimited which is possible in this case by the sounds of it your then stuck with a limited PayPal with loads of funds in it that you wont be able to get to for at least 180 days

No problem with a 6 month wait. Don't need the money instantly. As long as I'd get it that's all that matters.

The issue is sometimes that doesn't happen

Not often, more more often lately.

It just seems the entire way your going at this you are setting yourself up for a lot of issues later on

If you don't need the money that fast just take things slower

Why, why, WHY do people feel like they HAVE to do these stupid, stupid, stupid things?

It's like pointing a loaded gun at your foot and pulling the trigger, then complaining when you end up with toes blown off!

Find something else to sell. Seriously. Just find something to sell that won't be trouble.

I have nothing else to sell. I've made about 6k using friends and family accounts over the past 2 months or so. They were all eventually linked as I was really none the wiser about stealth then and that got them shut but as I said other sellers are still going. If I pay 200/300 for a stealth ebay and paypal and sell for a day I'd make the cost of the stealth back so anything else then is pure profit. I will only be able to sell until the 30th may anyway as thats when what Im selling expires and can no longer be used so I dont care if I lose an account as long as I dont lose it before I recoup the cost of the account. I have software that auto sends the good as well so literally no work for me once I'm setup.

This is the kind of behavior that makes EB want to hunt us all down like dogs and put us out of our misery.

I dont care if I lose an account as long as I dont lose it before I recoup the cost of the account

Am I the only one who sees this kind of behavior as a part of the reason the eCommerce world is so brutally f--ked up?

There's plenty of people who "wants" to have a business, but they aren't fit to be business owners.

It's great that you are making a lot of success in your ebay history, but have you thought to be more professional and responsible?
Doing so is just a healthy thing to do not just for you but for the community.

1 bad apple ruins the whole barrel.
