Selling a $600 item with a new stealth account
 

I would like to know what’s the risk in selling a $600 branded item that I’m trying to get rid of. I wan to sell it on a brand new stealth account. Do I risk getting my account deleted? I suppose new sellers come on eBay all the time trying to sell their expensive valuables so I don’t see why they should ban me for suspicion of any sort. Especially if someone buys it and nothing goes wrong after 21 days. I need to hear someone else’s take on this. Please help.

You will more than likely get the account suspended. Dont even bother trying to sell such an item without getting established as a seller first.

I think it's a risky move.

Plus, predator buyers look for newbies they can steal from because they don't have a lot of experience, and a new account has a big bullseye on it from their viewpoint.

Do you think I can get away with one sale before my account get suspended?

Maybe look into cash on collection only, you might get away with it. But I'd rather use Bumtree or FaceAche Marketplace.

I posted a listing about 4-5 hours ago. And it’s still up. I won’t sell too anyone with low feedback. What I’m saying is I doubt anything will happen if I just sell it ONCE ship it out, no issues. Let the account breathe for a few months after that.

Even if you're lucky enough to not have any issues on the eBay side, there's a high probability of Paypal limiting your account with an ID/invoice request if the very first item you sell is a $600 branded item. It's almost certain to happen in this case.

If this is your real verifiable account then by all means sell the item. I don't recommend doing this on a stealth account though.

I will keep you guys posted on the results, I don’t mind experimenting. I also forgot to mention that this account is also aged, I just never sold on it before. I opened that account in August 2017 and I just let it sit there. Would that make a difference?

No, that doesn't make much difference. The history they care about is your selling history.

Ok last thing I wanted to mention. I think PayPal and EBay Canada is more lenient than eBay/PayPal USA. I’ve tried both and based on my experience you get limited way quicker when you use a USA PayPal account and there’s way more restrictions. Would you guys say this is true?

I'd agree with that to an extent.

If anyone with low feedback buys from me I will refund them. I know about the chargeback scam. People use stolen credit cards and PayPals left and right that’s just the reality. How you last is by refunding these types of payments. I’m a lot of things but newbie is not one of them. You had to learn on this forum, I’ve learned all this on my own without joining the forum so humble yourself brother.

Well, just make sure that all your accounts are fully verified and the info are all accurate. So if they want to confirm it's you, you have your documents ready to give to them.

And since I don't know what kind of brand it is, if it's really a risky one, no matter what you'll get a verification request.

If you cancel a transaction and refund EB will penalize you. I think the limit on that is 2X per year before you're done. They're fed up with that.

You really have absolutely no clue what you're doing.

The learning curve on this one is really going to be painful.

First of all. When you have over 20 accounts aging and selling who cares if you lose one. I’ll take my chances, whether I have as much knowledge as you or not is not the debate. I’m just asking, can someone get away with breaking a few rules that are listed on this forum. You probably didn’t even know PayPal Canada was more lenient than the USA PayPal before I mentioned it. I’m asking these questions because I’ve noticed on this forum people always say you can’t do this or that. What are the exceptions though? How come sometimes I’m able to get away with it but sometimes I’m not. I’ll let you answer these questions since you seem to know EVERYTHING in the goddamn world. I’ve given plenty of refunds by the way, you have no friggen idea what you’re talking about. Factless statements are worthless! You might as well have just wrote this instead anshsisbskanansjsnsbb. That’s the same as what you just wrote.

I did not read everyone above and I am positive they offered great advice as to not do it.

I am going to add that is really depends on the item and brand. I sell archery equipment and do not have any issues selling a brand new, top of the line $1000+ bow for the first transaction. I dont do this anymore because I no longer sell such items(no money in it)

When I sold Shark Vacuums, 4th one gets a paypal suspension. Sometimes the 3rd one and they are not nearly as expensive.

Ok you just mentioned the 4th item got you suspended meaning you were able to sell 4 of them! What I’m trying to tell everyone on this thread is that I just want to sell ONE item for $599. It’s branded. Pretty popular brand at that. But I see plenty of people selling them. Admittedly, I assume they are mostly astablished sellers. I’m using a Canadian PayPal/EBay combo so what are my chances? Talk about your experiences folks! Need more replies!

lets say it is a gaming console or something like that. You almost certainly will get a soft suspension asking for at least a photo ID and receipt or invoices for the item.
