Ebay moving pay platform BECASUSE of Paypal New Rules

So we all know Ebay makes a ton of money from Stealthers and Paypal's new rules will almost surely eliminate using paypal with stealh, we need to get our arms around that fact. Is it possible that rather than lose all of their stealh ebayers fees that moving platforms was their way of maybe not losing those hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees.

Just a thought.

I have in the past easily singed up for a paypal account and rarely if ever lost one, now almost every paypal I have set up is limited on my first sale, when I say almost I mean 4 of 5 asked for proof of ID, Proof of address, invoices, etc on the first sale.

Your thoughs?

Not being snarky, but... if your PP's are being limited every single time upon the first payment, you're doing something wrong, somehow.

They've got your number, somehow.

Yeah must be , new dedicated IP, New user account, real address (one of my businesses), posting low cost item, browsed to build up cookies, best offer on item I knew would be rejected, ebay is ok, but soon as paypal received $16, asked for photo id, proof of address, invoices, etc. On one they asked for invoices BEFORE I ever sold an item?

I considered that these 2 changes are related. I concluded that they probably are in some way, but the time tables don't line up for this to be eBay's way of saving stealth accounts. I say that because the PP updates start in a few weeks but adyen won't be an option until at least the 2nd half of the year.

I think that was contractual

If you loose accounts it is what YOU are selling or doing.

Maybe stop using those VPNs and take a look at what you sell.

They're contractually obligated to send a certain % (80% I think) of sales to Paypal until something like 2023, but they aren't required to use Paypal exclusively. Alternative payment methods have always been allowed on USA eBay.

If this were eBay's attempt to save stealth accounts they would be pushing for all accounts to switch payment processors NOW instead of holding back the option to use Adyen for a few more months. If stealthers lose all their accounts from the PP update their only option will be using a merchant account until eBay starts "rolling out Adyen to a limited number of sellers in the 2nd half of 2018."

Doesn't add up.

My thoughts is that I am NOT surprised, after seeing some of the things you say on here.
