Default Violations drop off after 1 year?

See title. I've read that some people mention on the ebay forums that violations drop off after a year. Is there any truth to this?

Nobody knows for sure and things could change at any time. But yes that is the current understanding I have.

Generally has less impact after 3 months, but I dont imagine eBay ever really totally remove the violation from the account

On a really big account you can have lots of violations but they for sure never come off. Sometimes if you want a huge increase in limits they will talk about violations from years ago.

Would violations of over let's say 6 months or more have any negative affect on an account that is in excellent standing?

I dont see violations an issue unless you have new violations.

That being said, I received a VERO violation last week with a 7 day new listing suspension. This cost me several thousands of dollars in sales on this account. The problem is the VERO is a key word that the company claims to hold that is just a regular word such as "magnetic" The extra kicker is that the item removed was from months ago. I have since sold 854 of them with the same titile. So what happens when those get VERO removed?

i think violations stays for ever but if you do not get more violations the severity of earlier violation becomes lesser and lesser as time goes on
