I am sure it is not good for your account business but it would be nice to have USA sellers in the USA compared to china driving down the profits of things. I know in my nitch market, the Chinese sellers are dropping off. They killed themselves.

PayPal will remain a checkout option for EBay shoppers at least until July 2023, EBay said in a statement. Adyen will gradually take over processing EBay payments, beginning in North America this year and will process a majority of transactions in 2021. PayPal is currently EBay’s payments processor, meaning merchants selling on the marketplace have to have PayPal accounts to accept funds.

For US sellers,SS is needed so it can send you a 1099 for tax reporting,if you have completed 200 transactions and $20,000.
Note the word AND
It could send you state 1099 for less,since some states have required you to report sales tax and income tax

I believe the golden age of stealth accts is soon behind us. times are changing and only the strong/cut-throat will survive. eat good while you still can. the gravy train is heading out

SSN is a US requirement only. It will still be possible to sell on the .com using Ebay accounts from other countries. Whilst Adyen will no doubt require verification it will be far easier to complete on countries where no SSN is needed. ;)

Here are the facts as we know them:

As BiN4RY pointed out above: Adyen is ONLY a credit card processor. This means they ONLY process credit card trasactions. This is only for transactions customers would need to use their card (VISA/MC/DISC/AMEX) to buy something.

For everything else, there will be PayPal. PayPal is not going away anytime soon, at least until 2023, and in fact may be indefinitely. The last fact to consider is how large of a user base PayPal has: over 237 MILLION active accounts at the present time.

Customers are not quick to stop using something they have been accustomed to for so long.

There is always a workaround for most things.

Often a deliberate one.
