Is it not a felony to give PayPal ⊗⊗⊗⊗ documents?

Putting non true info online with them, and providing them with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ documents are two different categories, I guess ...

BTW what does distinct some group as Athorize.net from Paypal ..to the extent that for one is legal an to others illegal to lie !?
I mean, when is up to them to check (or not) validity of provided info and when you are obliged to obey from legal standpoint ?

Auth.net requires your tax ID on registration so by default if you used anything other than your own tax ID you're committing ID theft. I'm hearing it's the same with Adyen - you give your tax ID before you start accepting payments.

With Paypal you're basically using their merchant account and they are processing payments on your behalf. That's why anyone can use their service without a painstaking merchant account application.

With Adyen/Auth.net/any real merchant account, you're using your own merchant account and are processing transactions directly on the big 4 card networks.

When will Adyen be mandatory for eBay sellers? I have never had a merchant account. Does one'e credit score play a role in this? In other words, will someone with not so good credit rating be able to use Adyen to sell on eBay?

Yes it will become mandatory. They're saying Paypal will be completely phased out by 2023 so Adyen will presumably be the only option, unless those already using merchant accounts are grandfathered in.

Credit score is checked when you apply for a traditional merchant account. I was declined for one at Wells Fargo for having no credit history at the time. I doubt the underwriting standards will be as strict with Adyen as they are with Wells Fargo so the requirements probably won't be as strict. I haven't used it yet so IDK what the application process is going to be like. But I know there's going to be an application process and that's scary.

So adyen is big... their test screening and application setup alone is going to take 5-7 days.

It's possible to have 1 live account with them then create branches of businesses per merchant account to attach to each eBay business account.

This is how I see it happen when they phase out paypal
