Unlimited Selling eBay Account?

Hi all experts,

I just found out my grandfather's having eBay account from 2009. He has been selling before bu not in recent years and got 158 seller feedbacks. When I look at my ebay->selling/sold summary page, I could not see the monthly limits. Does it mean the account has no restriction on selling limits?

Possibly but no necessarily.
It is quite possible that those limits will show up in the future.
It is also possible that is 'grandfathered' (pun intended) from the time before those selling limits came into being and really does not have those - in which case you be careful with it cause it a real gem.
Only way to know for sure is to start selling on it.

He's still having paypal account for more than 10 years and I can see money in and out

Most the time that just means that the limits have not yet shown

But its possible its unlimited

I am a bit confused. I got an 05 account (did not sell anything before) showing exactly the same as I see from this acc but when start listing, the limit shows up.

This account has been selling quite heavily about 15months+before and surprisingly nothing displayed yet.

I went through stealth ebook but still not sure if my procedure below are correct. Please correct if I am wrong.

1. New user on desktop (can I set this user as admin also?)
2. 50GB monthly data from mobile wifi hotspot for IP.
3. Changing ebay email & phone to my email. His details, address still keep the same.
4. New bank acct and ebay phone number to link to PP, the rest details still unchange.
5. Now, my biggest concern is how can I change paypal email to that ebay email. He still using his email so I dont want to bother him everytime receiving fund from buyer.
6. Please add if I missed something.

Just click on help and contact link and type selling limit in search and you'll find it out

I let my account from 2000 sit starting 4 years ago because I was too busy working to list, started to list with no limits like yours and bam, ebay shut me down, 1000s of feedback, no limits on the account etc like yours. Said I was a risk to the community. be careful because they took an 18 year old account down for no reason at all.

There was a reason and it is that you jumped too quickly into selling. When an account hasn't sold for several years, you have to treat it just like a brand new account if you start selling on it again. Otherwise it looks to eBay like the account has been hacked and somebody could be selling fraudulently on it. It happens all the time. It's common for people to hack a seller's account, make a bunch of listings, and then never ship any items once orders start coming in.

Phaz is right - basically the eb/pp should be treated as being "created" from the time there is CONSTANT selling and not necessarily when they were created. Doesn't mater if the accounts was created in 2000...if selling only was done regularly in 2014...it's a 2014 account.

If you go from nothing to full throttle it sets all sorts of alarms off and you do end up getting limited.

There's always a limit on an account, just not visible at times.

I have to disagree, although that's mostly true. There are still plenty of super-old active selling accounts that predate the selling limit system. Sellers who have them treasure them and they rarely show up for sale anywhere.

In 2018 though it's a lot more common for accounts to "practically have" unlimited selling limits. One of mine has an item limit of 19billion per month or something absurd like that.

That sounds unlimited to me. I got some sales over last 2 weeks and still cant see the limit on the dashboard. I want to get ready for xmas but may have to slow down a bit.

It's more likely that your limits are hidden. It's something an eBay rep on the phone can fix with the push of a button.

It happened to me a few years ago. No limits showed on the account over 6 months of selling but every month after a certain amount of sales I would get a weird error message saying I can't list any more items that month (but it still wouldn't mention a selling limit). The problem is that when your limits don't show, they never automatically increase. So finally I got tired of being cut off every month and I called in. The rep told me the account has a 1000/$25000 limit and that it was just hidden. She clicked something on her end and 30 seconds later I could see my 1000/$25000 limit. Then the next month it was bumped to 2000.

TL;DR - Call in and get them to make your limits visible or you'll never get a selling allowance increase.

All of the old accounts do not show limits. this happened to me as well )
my account also from 2007 year and it never showed up limits until i posted items for sale =)

Depends. Could be like one of my 05 accounts. Still no limits to display, but I could never sell enough to hit the ceiling.

regardless, I'd say treat that account carefully and don't do naughty stuff like steal other people's stuff or sell weird naughty stuff. =)

Mine one probably the same with yours. So far this month, total listed quantity (xx quantity each listing) is more than 6000 so I am thinking the ceiling is very high.

Do you have any advise regarding max number of listing I should make per month on this gem?

I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket and use just this account. I'll spread sales over multiple accounts, but use this as an additional account, and use the no limits to my advantage when I need more.

But otherwise if you keep pushing it to its limits, and it gets reviewed by an agent, more often than not, they will allocate limits to the account.

UPDATE: I rang eBay and they said they can not see the limit on my account. Ebay rep said I can list as much as I want.
The thing is the more item listed, more sales coming so how can I use this account for the best of my advantage.
