It doesn't always work though, as it persists on you using the original number. Worth a try though.

The solution is simple, I have NEVER had to actually verify the number in this situation(I get this almost daily). You either try a lower amount for whatever transaction you are trying to make, or you wait. In almost all cases it disappears after 72 hours, for me at least.
One of the many ways that Paypal try to slow you down and cover their arse, for example, you try to withdraw money then you get this, after 72 hrs it works, but then you have to wait 72 hours to get your money, that's 144 hours they managed to keep you from your hard earned cash.
A couple days ago I tried to buy something for £400, I got this, then later that day I tried to buy something for £350 - no problems |

If you switched to anew phone number you wont be able to use that new number for verification purposes for 4-6 months (sometimes longer). |

I had the same issue, no longer had that number. I added a new number and verified it. I figured all was well but then when I tried to withdraw I got that same prompt asking me to add a number. I called several times for several days and several reps asked me "personal public data verification questions". I passed each time and each time they said they added the phone number to my account. Weeks went by and still nothing. I spent the funds, and ditched the account. |

So did u try to add bank account, I have same pronlem adding bank account, also if I try to purchase $100-$200 it let me to again phone securty page.
Called paypal too many times, say same thing we can not add the bank..
How can resolve this situation?? Any idea?? If I wait one month phone securty confirmation will gone?? |

Recently I had to add bank account but my phone number was already expired. When you add a new bank account it will ask for phone verification. So when I added a new phone number it placed some sort of security code on my account and I was not able to add any bank account as it would always give me some sort of error message. Eventually after a lot of calls one of the reps was able to remove this security code and I was able to successfully add my bank account.
I thought this was the end of it but a few weeks after they wanted me to verify my identity. They asked me for credit card / bank statement , utility bill, home / life / auto insurer statement that has DBA. I passed with flying colors.
Then the same exact identity verification happened with my other PayPal account a week later so I had to submit everything again and also passed with flying colors. However I received MC011, eBay has been asking me for photo id and invoice: receipts which I have provided but so far restriction has not been removed. |

| Man don’t even ask .... I had to find a clever way to find an appropriate document because no Auto / Home / Life insurer shows your DBA. PayPal and EBay are a bunch of scumbags, liars. Not eBay nor Amazon deserves the kind of recognition they receive. |

| Haha yea Ive been there as well. they have my DNA profile on record. Most of the time they lie simply because they have no idea. Their security systems are designed so they dont even know the ways around them. Oh well, thats why we play this game |

I should have added. If it was a google voice that expired, you can sometimes get lucky and reclaim that same number if it has not been recycled. Switch google voice to legacy and their should be some settings available to reclaim. |
