dhl will sually clear it up but if not i would file a dispute with paypal to try and get your full refund

i filed a dispute with my credit card instead, i just don't trust filing a dispute with paypal in case the seller ends up sending me another package with paper in there jsut to satisfy the tracking requirement. But another thing i didn't know is, my credit card company asked me if i filed a dispute with paypal, i said no...she then told me if i filed a dispute with them (the credit card company) then i can't file a dispute with paypal and vice versa.
i wonder why that is

'why?' Double dipping, that's why. Pepole were trying for two goes at getting their funds back. Credit card companies are being much stricter these days. Anyhoo, it was a better idea to do it thro' them as it keeps your paypal account clean.

good call with going to the credit card company that double dipping is interesting i would have never figured that out.

how can it be double dipping? because if i file with paypal AND credit card company, wouldn't one of them know that i already get the money back?

since i filed with my credit card company, do they go after paypal? then paypal goes after the the seller? not sure how the process work

Read what I said: 'trying' to get the money back from two different sources. Credit card company will not go near paypal, not worth their time. Bottom line foryou is your got your money back. Don't sweat it and be more careful with future shipments...

actually i haven't received my credit back from credit card company, they still have to investigate. but are you saying that usually the credit card company eats the loss?

The credit card company does not eat the loss. They reverse the charges on the payee. Whether you purchased direct, through escrow, Paypal, or whatever. CC company gets it back.

The Credit Card Company , will get the money from Paypal .Now if Pay pal eats the loss by not recovering from the seller than they have the option of closing your paypal account that is in your user agrrement (that most of us never read ).. as a buddy of mine had a bunch of Golf Clubs tken through customs about $5000 worth and filed with the credit card company and of course the seller did not have the funds so paypal had to eat it and his paypal account was closed by paypal a few days later .As this is why i do the chargebacks through Paypal as i dont want any problems with my paypal account .

so they try to get it back from paypal? then paypal tries to get it back from the seller? what happends if the seller has a stealth paypal and took the money already?

I never would expect seller to refund me totally if there was a seizure, its not their fault, plus its probably in their terms and conditions that its not their responsibility, I would negotiate a 50/50 split where they are out some and you are out some, especially if it is a trusted supplier, they dont want you to be out of money, but why should they? They should at least give it to you at cost price, to keep you happy. Why file a paypal dispute, thats harsh..If you were the seller you wouldnt appreciate that...If I could be sure, Id let paypal or the cc company eat it but not seller personally..

i defintely don't mind the cc or paypal eating it (prefer cc to eat it because i don't want a "mark" on my paypal account).
but this supplier assured me 100 percent it will get to me, and it didn't

For my instance, when it was taken......my supplier did the 50/50 split with me. Both parties share in the risk. Unfortunately, there is no way a supplier can "guarantee" receipt of your items....too many variables and risk which is obvious when you deal in vero items. It's too bad it happens, but it is part of the risk taken when ordering these items.

i found another supplier, and they told me they will use ups or ems....i told them the story about how a shipment of mine got seized and DHL was used..they said ok we will use UPS or EMS, so i gave them my address....well, i was jsut informed they shipped by DHL!!!
what are the chances that my item will be seized because the item was already seized last month when using DHL??
the current shipment address is the same as the last DHL shipment address

chances are very slim, but still exist. especially since its coming DHL. customs tends to seize more items via EMS as most packages shipped DHL get thru no problems. I think you'll be ok, but let us know the outcome!

EMS is not a company. It is a consortium of all the government postal carriers. It is by far THE mostly likely one to get you busted. Most of us already know that.

just from my personal experience, i don't do a lot of international from china...but here are results
2 ems - received both shipment
1 dhl- seized

also since dhl no longer deliver within united states, who do they contract with?

doesn't it usually say something like "customs cleared" ?
