Mismatched eBay + PP names

Lets say John Smith, living at 123 Main Street, has an eBay account.

Can he safely link it to a PayPal belonging to "Jon Smithe", or something along those lines, living at 456 Broadway Ave? And accept payments etc without fear of limitation resulting from the mismatch

this is assuming John Smith has never had a PayPal linked to his eBay account previously

you can change the info on the ebay account to match the paypal account information nothing will happen.

Doesn't seem to matter. I've got stealths where the info doesn't match between the eBay and PayPal's and it works ok.

How egregious was the mismatch? Do you think John Smith's eBay could link to Eric Johnson's PayPal, for example?

The names and addresses on the accounts were completely different. So long as you are linking and using the same account(s) together consistently and not changing anything, it should be ok.
