| | | citycowboy | 01-22-2019 09:59 PM | Is it safe to share files to customers? Hello everyone, I sell virtual items on eBay and been using Wetransfer.com to send download links to my eBay customers, but WeTransfer only keeps the files stored for 7 days, so I end up uploading the same thing over and over...
So I thought I could really benefit from a Cloud storage & a file-sharing provider like Dropbox or Mega, but Is it safe to send same download links to eBay customers throughout all my stealth accounts? Does eBay also monitors seller-customer messages? |
| nickopedia | 01-22-2019 10:22 PM | Re: Is it safe to share files to customers? I don't see this as a sustrainable business model on eBay.
Ebay doesn't like virtual items and dropshippers; this is regardless what they tell you.
Ebay has been known to closely monitor customer messages. I have had accounts suspended in the past for simply mentioning an email or phone #. I can only imagine they might not like sharing URL's or links either for the same reasons. |

| DocumentRequest | 01-23-2019 05:15 PM | Re: Is it safe to share files to customers? Ok, bud. See it how you want. They are worried about the safety of what their business it. There is a reason all the sellers on eb selling virtual items, have low feedbacks and are relatively new, because they dont last long. They are also worried about if they monitor messages, and yes they do. |
| CryptoSalV2 | 01-25-2019 12:53 AM | Re: Is it safe to share files to customers? There is a way to get the customers email. On the orders page. Hit view record on a specific order. It will take you to another page showing the buyers email... Send it via email. Make sure you doing all this from a stealth account, because as the others said eBay does not like it.... |

How to avoid using wetransfer and not having to re-upload multiple times due to link only being available for 7 days. I suggest using a different file sharing provider, one that does not expire, just tell the buyer it will after 10 days. Copy all the files to a new link or folder (mediafire or mega). Close the sold links after time has passed or you see a high number of downloads vrs the number of sales you have. You can also create a website with membership so your customer can access the files via their account.
eBay does monitor messages. The best way is to send them a email with delivery instructions/ link to files. Some send a txt file on how to access the downloadable content, but again it's subject to monitoring, but it does not instantly raise a flag as a regular ebay message link would.
It is high risk none the less. There are sellers with high feedback doing the same thing. |

Again, I'm not a US ebayer, and I don't know why US ebayers are so paranoid and so afraid to take even the smallest of risks. You guys could learn a thing or two from us international ebayers :thumb: |

What am I missing? Are you suggesting that a made-up or real tracking number is supplied for digitally delivered goods.
I've bought loads of downloads from ebay and never been given a tracking number - for obvious reason it seems to me! | You can send a small 1-3oz postcard thanking them for purchase with tracking number. This will avoid non-delivery issues |

Also, this will w ork for domestic (USA) delivery, not intl .
I agree with prior post, many sellers experience losing dispute of itemnot received as he cant prove delivery, eating too many such disputes could get you restrcited by Paypal and earn a substandard EBay seller status paying 14% FVF. |

This will avoid non-delivery issues | most of those sellers are not located in us they cant just send a card... and also if you see digital goods on ebay there is sellers who sell more than 150+ picecs in 1 day so its will cost more money to send 150 cards .. so its not an option all who work such a busniss model are ready to make a new ebay account every 4 days so a traking nummber issue will not be an issue. just sell digital goods/codes and go to the next stealth account .. | | All times are GMT -5.
