Default Macbook Pro 2017 + Parallels 10 = Unbearably Slow, What computer is best?

Literally highlighting text and scrolling pages is painfully laggy. Selling too much now for it to be worth dealing with this while listing countless items. Any suggestions on computers or tablets or phones under $500 for operating eBay and Amazon Stealth accounts lag-free? I mostly sell 1-off items so I have a lot of different listings.

Looks for something with an i5, or even i7 if you can find it

More important though will be the RAM and you want ideally at least 8gb although 16gb would be perfect.

Lenovo have some great laptops for a very decent price

If it is convent you might want to try a desktop and not laptop as they can be faster even with identical specs, Intel i5 or i7 and as much ram as you can afford, also look at including a solid state hard drive to speed things up,

It does sound a bit strange that your computer is lagging so much give it should be a pretty decent spec

Have you had a look to see what’s running in the background? Sometimes you get a single program that is running without you realising it’s running that takes up most the RAM and processing power

Windows 7 requires at least 1 GB per OS. So if you are running 10, make sure that division of ram is correct. Meaning if you try to divide 20GB of ram by 10, but you set each VM to 4 GB of ram per machine, they will have issues. I put 20GB of ram and a SSD and my laptop (I7 7thgen) is doing fine on 2 VMs. We'll see how it does when i get it to 10. I like my Acer. Ebay has acer refurbs for good prices. A desktop will be cheaper, and will last longer, and is much more expandable.

I got the MacBook 2019 which runs incredibly fast. The fastest laptop that I ever had. My initial purpose was to use it for studying, but seeing that he's highly performant, I started using it for video and photo editing also, plus, some gaming when I have some free time. I think it would be better to update to the 2019 version that switching to Windows. But it's not often that I met problems with the MacBook, even the ones older than the 2017 version. My only problem till now was with typing - I couldn't type the degree symbol, but it was easily solved with the help of Google.

I plan on buying the 2019 version also but I think I'll get it in 2020 as its price will decrease.
