| Paypal and EBAY fees were kept artificially low to attract more business,ditto Etsy.now Etsy has raised its fee so it can show a profit since going public.
Having your own website and cutting out one middleman,you end up with another middle man called Google Search,that aint cheap either.
back when it first started,anything everything sold for obscene profit,now we are back to the real world,taking into consideration all the efforts we put in,our profit is pretty mediocre.
as to those who are lazy,complacent or stupid,they are not,but JACK OF ALL TRADE leaves little room for error,improvement,some are not cut out to be an e tailer,some just need more capital,some needs to learn starting out with taking better pictures and describing the item better.
next time when you boast how much you are making,consider taking your time and skill ,how much would you have to pay someone if you are not able to perform these tasks ,to know what you know,where t o source and how to price them,take good pictures and describe them well,pack them well and ship fast and safe and handle buyer complaints,record keeping.
would you say your time is worth ??$17.95-$25 an hour,now add these figures into your profit calculation and come back and tell us how much do you really make before tax? |
