Activity: 0% Longevity: 29% | | Poll: Old account with 89%/110 feedback Vs Fresh account with 100%/0 feedback
My main account get banned two weeks ago and I had no backup options. Now I have to choose how to restart my business as soon as possible waiting for fresh backup accounts to get back to work.
Should I try to sacrifice my old account which I used between Oct and Dec 2018, which has 110 feedback @ 89% (it was an error of mine and got a bunch of bad feedbacks at the end of December) and still from 6 months or it's a bad idea and I should wait for fresh accounts to be ready? I was very happy with that account because it's very old (signed up in 2010) and I eventually unlocked the "instant payment" checkpoint in December. I don't know if starting today almost 4 months later it still works without 10 days hold, but do you expert guys think it's worth a try?

To me, they are the same.
110 feedback is not very many and buyers rarely care about feedback anyways.

I wouldn't buy from either to be honest.
Id go with the fresh account though if I was you. It would take a long time to fix the 89% feedback issue and those comments will never go away. On a fresh account at least you can make sure not to repeat the same mistakes.

I really wouldn't pay that much attention to feedbacks to be honest. Most buyers really don't pay any attention, nor care about it.
I have several low FB accounts that sell considerably better than those that are much more established.

It's not just the 110 feedback perk, don't forget it's a very old account, registered in 2010 and many limits were removed like the 21 days hold. And this is why I would like to make a bet on this account, because the instant funds that can provide would considerably speed up the building of the new accounts. Do you guys think that the 21 days old will be reestablished after these months of nothing or funds will be instantly available as I remember from December 2018? |

21 day holds go away very quickly...... who cares about them?
Why not do both?

For me when buying i would rather buy from a seller with 89% feedback and a selling history than a brand new account with 0 or low feedback

Yah but if you add tracking which you always should so people don't say they didn't get its only like a 7 day wait I don't mind helps me save more money having the hold.

There's no poll in the thread. :/
I'd sell on both accounts because, why not?
Wait, what do you mean by "sacrifice your account"? Can't you just start selling on it and not lose it? Sorry if that's already been answered.

I would sell on both.
Good thing about negative feedback is that it falls off after 12 months. So, this December, that account will go back to 100% feedback. (Or after you receive 1 positive, if you don't sell on it until then)

The new account which got busted has never been removed from hold, and I sold like 3k euros on that. I was blocked in a very funny way actually because eBay started sending emails to my customers saying I had my account hacked by scammes and providing a fast way to get a refund.
That said, I'm not very sure of what's the algorithm behind it.

But when I sell on ebay.de, which is what I need, they put me the 21 days hold. And that hold is not the classic one like you receive the email from PayPal "Ebay asked us to hold this payment and this can take a while". It's like another PayPal secondary-section of holds called "Availability of funds" which lasts exactly 21 days and it's managed by PayPal itself. I don't know if you guys ever noticed something like this.

So " restarting" doesn't really mean much. But before you restart anything, figure out WHY you got banned, and, well, don't do that. So, why were you banned?

Try to save both accounts. Why do you need to sacrifice it? 89% is excellent. Only stupid people buying on eBay now. They don't even read item description.
If you need to choose definitely the one with high feedback. Stupid question.

Also feedback matter little now, the vast majority of potential buyers don't even see or care about feedback, especially if they are using the eBay mobile app.

I sold very high risk items, Netflix accounts. But I turned out to do a good job avoiding VERO and the Ebay policies. I am pretty confident that ebay spotted me because the day before the suspension I made an unusual higher amount of money than previous day and they came mainly from the evil ebay DE. The account blocking notification email was in German and the reason was "Unauthorized use of account" which was obviously not the case.
