depends on what you are looking for.
There are certain categories you can only find on Ebay unless you want to drive all over the country looking for them.
Your teens are not interested in antique or vintage collectibles?
I sell a certain antique and I find the accessories which go with it on Ebay ,these accessories are hard to fInd and not available on AMZN

One of my hottest selling niches is in collectibles. For some reason eBay gets a lot of traffic in these categories, and they are always good for me.

It makes you wonder why eBay is behaving like this. They do something with their algorithm and suddenly slash the sales of well-established accounts!

The people running this company are literally insane IMHO.

Maybe it's just not your turn yet. I used to think it only affected me until I found out a bunch of other sellers suffering from the exact same thing.

Just google "eBay sales dropped suddenly" and you'll see countless submissions from different people.

To be fair though, eBay does seem to prop up the affected accounts after a few months.

Re: Ebay sales are dead since new year

Thank God my niche market is doing OK

I love eBay, my product attracts a lot of business buyers and there are still a lot out there who look to eBay for certain things.

Price is one, since the Chinese was allowed to sell on Amazon USA, the factories directly flooded the market reduced prices and undersold their US customers. In my niche market a lot of USA sellers have gone leaving behind the Chinese who then increased their prices. I can sell on there for 40% more than eBay the same product, admittedly I sell more on eBay but only by about 20%.

I think it is about price on eBay, coupled with good feedback, good service and a top rated seller rating the sales will roll in.

This has become a normal cycle for eBay I guess. It is just someone else turn to make money. Hang on, good sales will come back, but it will take couple months.

Old guy high horsing is not allowed. :nono:

Also he's talking about something that just started recently so selling on eBay in 2002 matters not lol.

Re: Ebay sales are dead since new year

I've closed my business account on eBay, my sales collapsed in Jan 2018 and never recovered. I was just going to close the shop and maybe list stuff when eBay offered free listings but the final straw was when I sold a bundle of clothes at wholesale price and despite me carefully listing the waist sizes of the trousers the buyer - who it is obvious can barely speak English let alone write it - started a return because (in his own words) "please i don t like the item because there are more big size in this item pleas" And i don't like the fact that those T***s at ebay think it's ok to have a return has been automatically approved system.

I refuse to sell clothing. Those buyers have to be the worst for returns!

Re: Ebay sales are dead since new year

it was wholesale 10 pairs of jeans different sizes - the buyer was a complete idiot. She or he was not buying them to wear themselves.
