only express delivery for high ticket

I would like to share this experience after 13 years in Ebay, I have sold in UK one Gucci Jacket for £278, the customer has paid after 10 days, the amount was on pending (normally i get the amount straightaway maybe his paypal has some issues with the buyer), I have send through 1st class signed for, the customer have said after 10 days it is not delivered and he got hos money back. after one month I have seen this jacket listed for 450$ but located in Lithuania.
Fact: for expensive item always express delivery.

You should always send items so they are properly insured, and ensure you are covered by paypals seller protection.

It's just common sense really.

Even it is signed for I have lost the jacket and the money, royalmail has refund just £50. With express delivery they will refund up to £500. My speculation the buyer has worked with postman.

In USA,it is $750 or more in payment would require signature,else it would just be tracking.
did you send with tracking,tracking must show it has been delivered.

if you have been on Ebay for 13 years,you must know how to protect yourself,always send with tracking and /or signature if required,insurance also helps

Did you send it abroad or within the UK?

it was sent within the UK, yes I have lost the case, royal mail didn't find the item, RM has paid 50.

yes it was tracked and customer has to sign to receive it, but the parcel was lost, next time any item more as 50 it has to be express delivered because the refund would be up to 500.

Paypal would not protect her unless tracking shows it has been delivered,
if I were shipping an expensive item and ship first class domestic,I would insure the item.

she will not get any seller protection,there is no protection for item not as described as no one but the buyer and seller have seen the item,it is her words against the buyer.
and seller always lose,but she could file a police report and usps complaint,thats what we do in US.
insurance company would also deny the claim.
there is a saying,dont sell anything you cant afford to lose

seller could see an authentic designer handbag and get a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ one back,sell a 3 carat diamond and get a piece of glass back,or empty box.
sellers are known to lose 5 figures item !

SO for paypal coverage after $250 I believe you actually need a signature confirmation.
Not just a delivery confirmation.

That buyer had to be home and sign for the parcel.

and signature has to be from some one at the shipping address.
