Activity: 0% Longevity: 30% | | If you give Paypal Ein, will they care if I make more than 20k a year?
Hi everyone:
I'm wondering with Paypal now sometimes later asking for personal Id, documents after giving EIN sometimes, can we take an EIN paypal account and run through a lot of sales over time of course, like say 200k yearly?
Or will that flag the account. The reason is I have 3 high revenue ebay accounts I want to start.
Thanks.

200K is really a small business. Big ebay sellers are into the millions.
Paypal can and does always look at accounts. EIN is a tax number they report the gross income to. It does not make the account stronger.
The more money you handle, the more paypal will look at you. Sell a quality item, offer outstanding service, and have minimal chargebacks and you should not have too much problems but you really never know.

It's still better to spread your sales in the long run if you are generating that much revenue honestly.
They want the Tax id to make sure that you are paying your taxes

They want the Tax id to make sure that you are paying your taxes | Yes it's fine that they want it. The reason I'm asking is just to see if anyone after entering EIN has had problems with paypal banning people for doing over 20k in sales or for my case around 200k each a year. I just don't want them banning the account since I won't ever upload ID or documents other than EIN.

I'm confused about what you are worried about....PayPal asking you for docs even though you added EIN?
They can and will ask for Docs at any time. EIN will not help or hurt that. Same with low or high value. Some people get doc requests after 1000$ or less in sales.

I dont think you understand this very well.
The IRS requires anyone who process credit cards to report Gross Revue if they collect $20,000.00 AND 200 items. So Paypal by law has to stop someone from collecting more than that if they do not supply the Tax number.
The IRS makes this happen with all credit card processors. Adyen, Paypal, Amazon, authoriz.net, skril, stripe, etc... It is the same with ALL of them.
It realy has zero to do with paypal. It is the IRS.

There is no way anyone here can guarantee you Paypal will ever ask for documents,it could be SS number, vendor invoices, driver license, utilities bill, bank statement .
as for spreading your sales among different accounts,if you have high value item, how do you spread one item between 2 accounts, say if your item is $10k,chop it into 2 parts?
In a way,it may hurt you if you spread them among different accounts instead of building credibility for just one account.
if Paypal restricts your account and withhold your fund for 180 days, would it jeopardise your business like you need the money to finance your inventory?
Does your banned Paypal account have a negative balance,if Paypal links your account with this banned account which owes money, would Paypal use your fund to cover the banned account?
there are other venues you can sell high ticket items?
Have you looked into Ayden ?
