Buyer shipped return UPS to stealth address
 

Idiot buyer shipped return UPS to stealth address even when I had given them a USPS label with the correct address. Honestly ridiculous. Anyway, it's going to a stealth address, signature required. Is this just going to be a loss? Any ideas?

Basically, I'm ready to take the loss, just worried this could now cause more trouble for me somehow if the people start investigating why they got this package.

Well did you make the account yourself? The same thing happened to me with an account I bought on here and the return went to the person whose name I was using, he contacted authoritites and they are looking for the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ dude, not only that some of my long term customers got their paypal limited because of purchases from him. So now when I buy an account I google the name and address.

if this is a dispute,wont the buyer be asked by Paypal or Ebay to ship to his return address on the stealth account,I can see why buyer ignores the USPS label you want him to use.

I uploaded my own label to ebay. If he had used the ebay system I would be fine. He went to UPS on his own.

where did he get the return address?
can you call UPS and ask them to reroute the shipment?
or can you call him to reroute,saying that if he does not use your label,he wont get the refund?

If he didn't use the label I gave him, I'd wait the 5 days or whatever it is, then call ebay and tell them to close the case lol

Buyers are still given the option to use their own label and upload tracking

I don’t even bother with returns I just say keep the item and here’s your $20-$30 back sorry for the incovience this attitude has made my account top rated power seller 100% feedback lol

Losses need to be figured in to any online business just as big chains factor in certain amount of inventory stolen from shoplifting they already know a rough estimate of the loss before it happens

if signature is required,the item could be an expensive item.
Buyer is sending UPS,if signature is required and the person who lives in that stealth account refuse to sign,then it will go back to the buyer,then OP will ask him to use his USPS label and send again.
Or ask buyer to call UPS and intercept the package or reroute ,I think the recipent can ask to have it rerouted?

true phaz if the item is over $30 then i deffinetly wouldn't just refund them but most of the items i sell are below that price

These are 200-300$ items.

I'm seriously ripping my hair out. Another dumbass buyer just did the same thing but USPS. I sent the label, they simply don't use it and made their own. I have never had this happen in over a year of stealth and now twice in a row.

I don't feel its safe to put my real return address on the account.

some buyers dont have printers,some dont realise they can print label from Ebay or Email.

I use to hand write my labels man what a difference having a wireless printer makes save money and time

If UPS was used, and you have access to the senders name/address and tracking # you can request to resend the shipment anywhere you like, including to your local UPS store. I have an online account with them and have done this before.

why didnt you just update your return address at time of return then delete it.

even if item gets returned to original sender. eby will still refund the buyer.

so you ll be out of funds n item.

My current plan is to just go pick it up from their house if they sign for it.

I will say it went there by mistake. I don't see any issues with this.

This guy went outside the eBay return system. According to ebay, his return has not even shipped yet, as he didn't use the label or tracking I provided.

You simply can't prevent some people from being idiots. He wasted his own money when I sent him a label.

You are still low IQ. Paypal is reversing the no fee refund system because so many people had a problem with it.

That would only cause him to A. Call eBay, complain and provide tracking. B. File a PayPal dispute and provide return tracking. C. Maybe get my account shut down after humans start looking into it and see the return address is from a banned account. D. Negative feedback.

Anything I'm missing here guys?

Nope, sounds like you've about covered all the possible outcomes.

Good luck. Just keep in mind people may be doing this on purpose so you should probably find a way to patch it up moving forward.

I sell in a category that doesn't get me many returns. Also not sure why you don't get THAT.

Let them know ahead of time that you mis-typed the address and to be expecting a package for you, maybe?

It will say in the return the item needs to be send back by xxx day. If he doesn't upload the UPS tracking by that day call ebay and they will close the case.

If they sent it to the wrong address, if it is delivered, then you lost the item but will someone sign for a package with a different name and their address? Would you?

If it is refused, then you can "MAYBE" contact eBay and tell them they put the wrong address and you provided a label....

You might need to call them a few times to find a Filipino villager who knows what UPS is.

Also MAYBE you can politely ask the buyer to change the address, just leave the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name on it, UPS won't ask for ID if they deliver to your house.

Good chance you lose the package. Consider it like shoplifting.

UPS won't let the receiver change the address. Has to be the shipper. UPS isn't as dumb as eBay but you can get the account number from the tracking number and with the customers name maybe you can call ebay and ask them to reroute it but I doubt it.

Op said the item is 100-200 ,so per Ebay and PAYPAL seller protection,there is no need to get signature conformation.

you really need to stop calling them idiot buyers. Your address on ebay is ⊗⊗⊗⊗. As far as the buyer is concerned, YOU are the idiot that would have a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address. That's the life that we stealthers live. Sometimes it costs us.

I'd just tell them ahead of time that after checking my online order, I realize that I messed up when typing the address, and to please let me know when they get it

Can't you just get a po box address and all returns go back to you ? Or ebay frown on po boxes now?

If you lose 200-300 twice in a row that would have been several years of po box address subscription. I had loss like this where idiot buyer just sent it back to the address they got it from without notifying me. it was for 150 and now i don't list items over 65ish
