I am gonna lose my Top Rated Seller status, does it matter?
 

Due to ****-ups of the mail company I had a spike in my quote of "item not received on time" and I am losing my status as top rated seller by tomorrow.


Do you think my sales will be negatively affected by it?

Yes, sales will be affected because you'd lose your position on the search results when all the shuffling is done. Plus your 10% discount will go too.

When it comes to shipping, It is best to under-promise and over-deliver. You may lose a few sales here and there, but the extra day serves as a buffer to protect your TRS when things go wrong.

It will not heavily affect your sales, only other TRS will have some sort of 'priority' in the search results.
You can still get it back once you do good again :cheer:

Yes, I have.
In the words of eBay, you'd get "Maximum visibility in search results" if you attain TRS status.
It might turn out differently for you - so you should know for sure in a few days.

it really depends on what you sell.

If you don't have a lot of competition then TRS doesn't really matter.

That used to be mostly true but does not necessarily count these days. I'm still looking for that product that sells really well without competition.

Meanwhile, when you lose TRS you're buried in search result so except you're selling a product that does not span the first page you're going to take a hit.

The lose of TRS is usually preceded by ailing selling metrics. If accounts don't lose traction with the loss of TRS then this means those matrics count for nothing.

Still, a loss that can translate to huge £££ even if it is an average ticket item.

There are other ways to get TRS back without losing too much profit or waiting on chance.

I have been reading about TRS for the last couple days and honestly the entire program seems like a sham geared only towards giving sellers a 10% discount on final fees.

It looks like sales won't increase just because you attain TRS :pop2:

Anyway, time will tell for sure and I will keep you guys posted.

Sales dropped by 80% and the f**king ****s from eBay support won't remove the damn late shipments even though it was the god damn mail company that is behind all of this nonsense.

your mail carrier is your agent,you choose them,so you have to accept responsibility,if they keep underperforming,FIRE THEM.

eBAY rotates accounts,as there are just too many sellers,it gives new sellers a honey moon period.
So it does help if you have multiple accounts selling the same merchandise

Freaking morons are working at the eBay customer support. They reply to e-mails without even reading the damn thing.


I don't ship with tracking because I mainly ship cheap stuff and the average order value is 10-15$.

The mail company ****ed up and didn't empty the mail box on time for several days... This is why I got all these late shipments (which I don't mind had it not affected my sales).

Not shipping with tracking is one of the worst ideas.

Have you not considered maybe increasing your price a little or find a cheap shipping alternative to cover yourself?

Jeez... that's ridiculous! I would 100% call them up and bitch if I got hit with those things!

I did, however, receive a $5 credit the other day on an order that didn't come in time.

I've not fallen victim to it, yet, but that's a bullshiit policy that needs to be addressed. But I'm sure it's not very often... so probably not that big of a deal. Unless you're OP! :lol:

low price items ,sellers do not ship with tracking,otherwise it becomes a high price items and people wont buy-postcards,stamps,non precious metal coin,thread,ribbon.
but marking it shipped same day helps.

So, I was curious about this, and according to ebay it's not so. As of 10/1, or maybe even before.

I don't ship with tracking. I called eBay and e-mailed them multiple times over this and nothing worked. They didn't agree to remove any late-shipment defects even though it was not my fault.

it is your responsibility to ship promptly,you choose a particular shipper.
did you mark the listings shipped?
Some sellers do not use tracking,they sell low price light items and all they do is mark it shipped,-stamps,coin,thread,ribbon,postcards>
Once I received a dvd shipped in a used envelope turned inside out,no tracking.np padding,it arrived intact
