You meet in person or payment via paypal. Do not pay by bank, there are tons of scammers there asking for bank payment or paypal family friends payment. Always use a method that is covered and protected against scams.

I have been selling there for over a month now, sold 3K worth of stuffs, its defo legit, lots of time wasters too, but I feel it should be expected given the nature of the platform.


I can no longer ignore FB Marketplace, its something I will do alongside Ebay from now on.

It's worth setting up three or 4 new facebook accounts. I have done this using variations on my own name.

The ones I set up using the same IP address were shut down within 48 hours.

So the new ones are all set up using various public IPS at wifi hotspots.

Add mobile phone for extra validity.

Facial recognition software is getting more and more improved.

Do you have access to the Marketplace with those new accounts? if not what do you do to gain access?

At the moment am using my original account. I have not used facebook for almost 10 years before I went back for Marketplace. I would love to make a stealth just for that.

Mostly cash (meet up IRL), bank transfer (some ppl are a bit weary of this), or send them an invoice for goods/service from Paypal and then they pay you. Then post the item via tracked delivery and upload the details to Paypal.

Facebook Marketplace shipping is limited to select sellers, though they claim it will be opening up in 2020.

How is Facebook Marketplace going to overtake Ebay and Amazon, if sellers with well established personal accounts and a good history of local sales cannot list items with shipping? I cannot list a single item with shipping on Facebook Marketplace, as it only allows me to list locally. I was going to buy stock in Facebook until I learned that hardly any sellers can list with shipping.

When will Facebook wize up to take advantage of the Facebook 5% commission fee on shipping secure transaction, versus Ebay/PayPal 13% and Amazon 15%? Someone please tell me how to contact Mark Zuckerberg to ask when they will opening up Facebook Marketplace shipping to more than select sellers will boost Facebook profits, sales and threaten Ebay and Amazon. Forget Craigslist, Mercari, OfferUp, LetGo, Varage Sale...

I meet them at the police dept parking lot.
My police station, and many others, offered this as a good exchange place
plus it's obviously full of cameras and cops.
I haven't had anyone decline meeting me there.
