Item got sent back to me. How do I refund this buyer?
 

Hi
I got item shipped to buyer and it was sent back to me cause it was never picked up (it required signature).

Now we have a return in eBay. We can refund the buyer in eBay or in Paypal.
However, we have an issue.

PayPal shows the payment received from buyer is on hold. And it further details it as temporary on hold. What does this mean? Did we get the payment?
And this sender is unverified.

Is it okay to refund the buyer the full amount in eBay (PayPal doesn't let refund this one)?

you should refund from Ebay,so you can get your fees back.

did your buyer open a case to return the item>if so,then EBay has placed a hold on the payment.
you need to refund from Ebay,if you have problem,call Ebay

Got it.
So that on hold is for the return itself.

BTW, I didn't know returning from PayPal didn't give me back the eBay fees...

it's a new thing that PP is doing.
But yes, simply click refund on the eBay end and that money will be returned.

as soon as buyer goes to his MY EBAY and states he wants to return the item,Ebay will immediately access your Paypal account and withhold the payment,it is Ebay,not Paypal,at this point,Paypal is not involved .

yes that's correct. there is a difference between "Hold" and "Held" in ebay.

Held means there is a case open in ebay and you cant refund by paypel. Hold means it will be available in 21 days

Refund the money through ebay and everything should be fine.
