Item Not Received Defect Rate

I have read few threads here and I still don't know how to continue selling. Most of the orders have the risk of delayed deliveries.

When a buyer opens an item not received case and I refund him after few days, does that count as a defect to my account ?

Try to ship with tracking.yes item not received cases effect your selling performance
