DHL delays from China

I've been having trouble getting my supplier to move stock from China for around 2 weeks. The cost of sending it out has shot up and the waiting list is long to get on a flight. My supplier said that is a worldwide problem. Anyone else having trouble getting stock in from abroard?

Re: DHL delays from China

There is no workaround for this, it is what it is :-/

You could use truck shipping to the UK, takes around 20-25 days and is way cheaper.

Re: DHL delays from China

Do you mean Surface Air Lifited? (SAL)? It was quite a useful way to send things before, but my supplier said all manners of shipping are frozen at the moment. I'm curious what's causing the current hold up, it was working fine a couple of weeks ago. Is it shipping of PPE from China to other countries using the flights or theyve actually been suspended?

You didn't have to pay extra for the stock though? Perhaps your supplier decided to absorb the extra cost.

Are you serious? I know transit times are normal once the shipment is picked up, but for DHL to pickup a shipment it is now taking up to a week or maybe even more.

Please tell us more about your situation, how many days did it take for your shipment to get picked up?

Re: DHL delays from China

as I mentioned before
suppliers in china signed for different shipping agent, companies like DHL handle their 80% of collection to agents,if their agents are weak, during such times they will given up on fight and tell customers to stop drop or drop only 20% or 30% whatever anymore packages and caused a huge delay.while other smarter and harder working agents still be able to keep up.

Ask your supplier to change shipping agents.

my suplier sent seome items with dhl around 17 days ago. it showed "Shipping information received" for 2 weeks. after that it was normal and the items almost arrived already.

3 days ago he sent another parcel and it has the same status now like the one which was sent 2 weeks ago.

Ive been told that chinese goverment forbid to export masks since they are low quality so. they caused the delay

This has been consistently the case for me too. Average wait time of 2 weeks before DHL shipments are picked up.

UPS is about 2-3 days before pickup, fedex/tnt is about 5 days. :juggle:

The exports of medical equipment have clogged the system and flooded the world with faulty gears as everybody in China jumped on the train and wanted to make money selling masks and gloves, hopefully it will get better soon!

Fingers crossed.

For what it's worth the situation already seems to have improved a bit in the last 2 weeks. It was brutal for a while there.

I think the situation with regard to cargo planes will get better in few weeks, the problem is the lost cargo capacity due to the halting of commercial air travel as these airplanes used to carry a lot of cargo along the way.

In 1918 the Spanish flu was under control until the restrictions got lifted, I am worried about a 2nd wave of this virus, this is why I am definitely going to stock up as summer fades away.

I've been going out of my way to live my life like covid-19 doesn't exist. Seems more and more like data manipulation every day so I quit paying any attention to it and started focusing on my own operation again. It's been working out well. Screw covid and the mass stupidity it's brought on. It's disheartening hearing people beg to have freedoms taken away in the name of "public health." A lot of these people don't understand the implications of what they're saying needs to be done. It's sad. So, I'm done with covid for now. It's almost like we are witnessing the aftermath of 9/11 all over again, just with a slightly different root cause and different characters playing the game this time around.

Forget freedom, people are begging for their money to be taken away by asking for a freshly printed roll of paper thinking it is really "free"!!

I've noticed shipping costs have really increased, big time. It's gone so high that shipping by sea may be the only option to reduce costs enough to still make money selling stuff. Airfreight is slow these days due to flight shortages, so sea shipping might not be a bad alternative.

Express shipping costs haven't gone up all that much for me.

The latest quote I got was : UPS-75rmb($10.58)/kg, DHL-70rmb($9.88)/kg. From what I can tell that's only $1 or so higher than usual. What are shipping quotes looking like for you guys?

Governments don't have money to give away to people, they are "governments" in the sense that they have the authority and power to collect taxes (real value produced by people) and then distribute these taxes however they please. Every country around the globe could in theory print as much money as it please and be the richest government on earth, but it doesn't work that way.

The government printing trillions of dollars is like you drawing your credit card to pay your bills --> you will have to pay it back. The government will have two options to pay what it printed back:

1. Raise future taxes (The most probably scenario)

2. Inflate the debt away by letting the dollar lose more of its value

Have you ever seen Warren Buffett talking about taxing the "wealthy"? They will label everybody who makes more than 200k a year as "wealthy".

Under this communistic system taxes have no option but to go up and up :shhh:

The COVID-19 plandemic is not over yet, I think we have at least two more years to go

I used to pay 5-5.4$ per KG for DHL EXPRESS :pop2: Air freight prices have gone up 100% :bounce:

Just asking for any updates on my thread a few days ago on the ongoing situation of COvid-19. My supplier is still saying DHL channels are still blocked with PPE orders bound to the UK, and DHL prices are sill extremely expensive. My supplier is not only just worried about the cost, but also that the chances of the parcels getting lost are higher. What's everyone elses' situation like curently?
