Default No more queuing at post offices.

Hi everyone,

One of the main reasons what put me off selling on eBay was having to go to the post office and post my parcels for some reason I did not like doing this.

Of course you can do drop and go get a post office card top the card up with funds and then hand your bag of items over the counter but this still wasn’t good enough for me.

Things have changed in the last 5 years since I havnt been selling on eBay. I found out that parcel post boxes were introduced a few years back where you can now set up an account with Royal Mail and then link your account with eBay and then just print labels off and then post them in a parcel post box.

This believe it or not was one of the main reasons for me to start selling on eBay again knowing that I can just print labels on my label printer get in the car drive to the post box and just post them made life a lot easier.

This thread is for people who don’t like posting parcels at the post office. Lol.

I hope some people will learn from it.

Yeah< I mean, as long as you don't care about your items not getting scanned, and disappearing for a few weeks until after you've already lost the INR case.

Lol, I think you need to tip your mail carrier a little more at Christmas.

We've been having packages picked up off the porch since I started selling on eBay. The UK seems to be light years behind USA in the postage department but I guess that could be because of it being a small island.. compared to the vastness of USA.

Anyway, getting packages picked up off the porch is more reliable than dropping them off at the PO for us. If they get busy at the PO they'll just throw shipments in a container and they won't be scanned until they hit a sorting facility. Our mail carrier scans them all without fail, and we're on our 3rd mail lady since we started. My wife is friendly with them and I always give them a gift and/or $ at christmas.

I found the title of this thread funny because it sounds like the British version of the catchphrase stamps.com has been using since the early 2000's, "no more waiting in line at the post office!"

Sounds like you may have a burglary problem in your area, agent.

While I hate my mail carrier, as she is the grumpiest nastiest one I've ever had ( I miss my old super nice old lady one) she at least scans every package. But she also takes a day off every week, on random days, and her just as random replacements, couldn't care less about scanning.

We have collections but unless you are at a REALLY big usage volume, its really expensive. Around £25 a day collection.

£900 a year (last time I looked) that's £18 per week - but you need to pre-pay the £900

The easiest thing to do is print the USPS label from eBay/PayPal, and schedule a package pick-up with USPS. You can just leave the package(s) in front of your door or in your mail room. Clean and simple.

Another life-hack is that UPS locations will usually accept USPS packages. The location we have locally, will gladly tape up the packages and even apply the label with the fancy UPS label container, all free of charge. This will likely depend on the policies of the particular UPS. I'd say never use a Post Office unless your particular location is outstanding. Either use USPS, UPS, or just package pick-up.
