Will my eBay account be back to normal again?
 

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted something on this forum but could do with some advice on my eBay account.

About a week and a half ago I started drop shipping from amazon to eBay. I was using shopmaster to upload amazon products to eBay. About a week ago I received this email sorry if it’s long wounded.

We’ve determined that you haven’t followed our selling practices - drop shipping policy.

There is evidence on your account that you are purchasing items from an online retail or marketplace site after you sell the item on eBay and having that retailer ship the item directly to the customer. While in violation of this policy, the account will not be eligible for the Top Rated program until it is in compliance.

So after receiving the email on Sunday my eBay account was flagged my listings which were at the top of the page sunk down the pages promoted listings had dropped from 50k to 70k views a day to just a couple of hundred views a day maybe a 1000 if i was lucky. This has obviously resulted in very very slow sales from 50 a day to maybe 3 or 5 a day.

I’ve removed shopmaster from selling preferences and removed all amazon listings and only kept my original products up for sale.

I’ve been in touch with eBay since Sunday every day since Sunday. Today I receive this email again sorry if it’s long wounded.

I had escalated your issue to our higher end special team for an account review to check the possibilities of removing the issue from your account.

They have carefully checked all the aspects to see if there could be any possibility to get your issue removed. Despite all the best efforts I am sorry that our decision regarding this eBay account was upheld. Our risk management team has denied your appeal. However, please do not worry as the system will track your account and will automatically remove this issue after 1-2 months as you are already aware about the issue and is performing well.

We understand that this may not be the answer which you might have anticipated. We have tried our best and touch-based every aspect to address it. We would have been glad if we were able to resolve your issue.

Does the email above mean in 30-60 days my eBay account will be back to normal again?

Your sales are being throttled. eBay isn't too happy with sellers dropshipping from Amazon. Sometime in 2018, Salefreaks.com had a row with eBay for throttling dropshipper's sales.

Thanks for your reply. The article was very helpful. I have ended all the listings now so do you think in 1 to 2 months my eBay account and promoted listings will be back to where they was?

I was thinking of ending all sponsored listings now and lowering the price to eBays best match lowest price so my items will be higher in lowest price section. Do you think this is a good idea for now?

You now have to show eBay that you seriously ended your drop-shipping business. List your own products for sale, remove any drop-shipping software privileges from your account, get some sales and feedback --> give eBay a call 60 days from now and go from there.

The fact that they didn't ban you says they want to give you a 2nd chance to get things right.

Thanks for the reply it’s much appreciated. I was thinking of ending my sponsored listings as I’m barely getting any views now.

Do you think it will benefit me to end sponsored listings while the restriction is on my account?

Just end the sponsored listings.

Yes, end the sponsoered listings and use organic ones instead for a couple or three months.

Risk management team is heighest team in ebay who lookafter mc11 issues etc and luckily they not suspended your account wait for 2 months

Thanks again for the replies. I’ve ended sponsored listings and still getting 5 or so sales a day no where near what it was like but yeah I am grateful I’m still allowed to sell at the moment and not suspended.

I’m kind of wishing I never ended sponsored listings. So far today my sponsored listings are at 4 views which I expected after ending them but more worrying is my organic views are only at 8 from
14,000 the other day and 4,000 the other day.

These numbers have now resulted me in 0 sales so far today.

Any advice on how I can get the organic views back up again as an eBay rep said it shouldn’t effect that and you still should get some sales.

So much bad advice from people who obviously don’t drop ship. Your account is toast. I promise you, even if you ended all of your listings and removed that stupid repricer/monitor and waited for a year, your account would still remain flagged. Start a new account and never use shopmaster because it connects directly to eBay’s API.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve been told by eBay management team that if I use tracking numbers to post the items the eBay system will pick that I’m posting from my location and within 30-60 days it will be back to normal they have told me not to worry so I’m going with what they say at the moment. Hopefully it will be back to normal again.

LOL, call again and get a different rep, and see what they say. Then do that a couple more times. Once you receive the 4 different answers, you might be able to put something together resembling the truth.

If I’m honest I’ve probably spoken to more than 4 people and the answers have all been the same so I’m just going to ride this loss out and see what happens. It’s going to go one way or the other.

I spoke to someone else again and they said if I provide tracking numbers to prove that the items have been posted from my address with in 30 days from the day I started using tracking numbers my eBay account will be back to normal again.

They said they’ve seen this happen loads of times where accounts have been fully restored.

So if the account is toast as you say...but still flagged and not banned/suspended can we just go and make a new account and the flag will not carryover to the new account? Can we use different email, same name, address, bank info, etc. to make new account and be OK. I heard that accounts that are banned/suspended need to worry about having all new stuff and stealth accounts compared to flagged accounts. If we are using managed payments then we don't have to worry about having new Paypal accounts either.

Work on this account on the side and rebuild it slowly, it will eventually catch up and go back to normal.

I have another update on my eBay account. I’ve basically listened to eBay cancelled all amazon listings, went into site preferences and disabled shopmaster API. Shipping from my address and using tracking numbers.

My account is slowly being unflagged. My listing views and promotions are slowly increasing. The eBay agent told me today in the next 48 to 72 hours my account will be back to normal top of the listings making sales again.

I’ve been told it can take a maximum of 45 days but I think my account will be okay soon.

So my account got flagged last Friday. Over the weekend it was working fine and then on Monday the views stopped and hardly any sales. So after you removed all your listings have you actually sold stuff now that you have in inventory since you were flagged? How many items have you sold? Are you doing buyitnow or auctions?

Don’t worry that your account is flagged it will be back to normal if you follow eBay guidelines everything will be fine. I have stock to sell at home and I’ve left those listings up. Sales are really bad gone from 30-50 sales a day to maybe 1-3 a day. Those sales are from repeating customers not from my potential buyers as my organic views and promoted listings are still low but slowly increasing due to following eBays policy.

The stock you are currently selling are you doing buyitnow or auctions? So I noticed you also got a seatlh account as well? Are you selling on that account as well? How many items do you list on that account?

Always buy it now. Yesterday I sold 6 on my flagged account probably the best day I’ve had since my account was flagged. I havnt sold anything on my stealth account yet just waiting for new bank card to arrive. I want to drop ship on that account so going to manually list items up to start off with and see what happens.

Well from the October 1st to October 7th my views were around 15 a day. On the 8th October they were 459 views and last 2 days were around 1400 views. Right now it’s at around 1100 views. But I believe the sales I achieved yesterday were from returning customers as my listing is still sitting on page 3. It’s slowly coming back but know where near I want it to be. I’m actually making a loss at the moment as I’m using tracking numbers to prove to eBay the items are being posted from my address.

How is your flagged account coming along? Still low views or getting better now that you deleted all the listings and started shipping your own items? I am in same situation with my flagged account. Mostly get 1-3 sales a day, afew 5-6 days, but nothing like before. Thinking of deleting all my listings too and sell my own inventory and see if account will come back. Let me know your update.

Wow OP doesn’t listen .... I told you, once your account is flagged there is no way to unflag it. I’ve been drop shipping from amazon to eBay for 4 years now. I lost dozens of accounts so I would know a thing or two. eBay agents don’t know **** .... even senior managers don’t really know what direction eBay is going.

Based on your question, you should learn the basics so you understand how to do things the right way and in the right order

If you look on YouTube you can see videos of flagged accounts being unflagged. If you continue to use API software on a flagged account and continue to do what you was doing then your account will stay flagged or will be suspended.

If you upload tracking numbers and use correct item location then your account will be unflagged. At the moment its been 18 days since my account was flagged and views have gone from 5-15 a day to around 1600 views a day I’ve been told it can take 1-2 months to get the account fully restored so hopefully it will be back to normal again.

When you say 1600 views a day are you talking about the total views for all your items? The 5-15 views day was the total views when you were flagged? How many items are currently listed on your account to get the 1600 views a day now?

Yeah it’s for the total items so I have 2 listings up one of the listings has 10 variations of the product so different products in the listing but the total views is for 2 listings. It’s averaging 600-800 views for promoted listings and around 600-800 views for organic views. My account is still flagged. Before it was around 5-15 views for the 2 listings. I’m hoping after 30 or 60 days it will be back to normal again. Need to start selling 50 items a day again.

Any new update on your old account coming back or still flagged? How many items have you shipped now from your own location since you took down the old listings and put up new listings?

So it’s been just over 30 days since my eBay account got flagged right now it’s still flagged. However my 2 main listings which generate me the most money are at the top of the pages on eBay app on google, safari and Firefox still down the pages (bouncing from page 2 to 5) impressions are still the same clicks however are going up ever so slightly nothing to get too excited about. Sales are still the same.

What I have done is auction my main Buy it now listings as well changed pictures, descriptions etc. Basically I have 10 variations on one listing. I listed those 10 items separately as 3 day auctions I only listed them today actually. I’ve been going to my local pound shop and I’ve been buying items to sell some sell, some don’t.

I do feel like this account will be back in fact my projected seller performance for 20th November is top rated seller at the moment it’s above standard and I’ve been told this will give me an advantage when my account does come back to life.

I don’t know how many I’ve posted from my correct item location but it’s quit a lot. I’m using eBay to print the labels off so return address is the same on my account.

Also to mention I was contacting eBay everyday through live chat for the first month and I was promised a rep would reply back to me and eventually they did. They sent me an email saying if I comply with what they are asking my account will be back to restore my account quicker they said I could send

1. Legal document showing that you have a contract with your supplier,
2. Legal document showing that you own your inventory and have your own warehouse.

I’ve chosen not to get creative and send anything to them as I don’t potentially want to kill the account if documents get declined. I’m happy to wait the days out well I’m not but it’s the only way to get my account back so just continuing on what I’m doing.
