Looks to be doing just fine to me.

EBay Inc. gave revenue and profit forecasts for the current period that topped analysts’ estimates, suggesting the company is gaining new customers amid an e-commerce boom.

Perhaps, but when mom and paw need to give out their SSN to sell their used brass ash trays. They will be gone

Sure. They now have tons more Chinese sellers selling the same junk you can buy anywhere. Lets see how long they are able to keep that up, seeing as how they want to compete against amazon, but will never be like amazon.

And how many ebay "customers" are just stealth accounts? People on this site have dozens, if not 100's of accounts each.

I read on the BBC that ebay had a really decent Xmas.
My gripe is: ebay didn't do anything clever to make this happen - that all JUST happened because of Covi19.

Maybe ebay did 20% better than 2019 (I can't remember what the article said).
Amazon in the meantime probably did something like 100% better.

As much as I hate ebay for screwing me, I wish they would get their act together (yes, I am one of those who simply got banned for nothing - I wish I HAD done something illegal to get banned, then I could go round pretending I was a criminal).

Let's not forget any losses ebay make this year is solely because of this new managed payment system transition period that is scaring sellers away.

Once people get over it and adjust to the new way of selling the ball will be rolling again.
