UK company for Ebay

Hi guys,

I am considering opening a UK company to register an ebay business account because I heard that it doesn't necessary to be a resident there. So I can operate it remotely. Do you think that's a good idea?

thanks :)

you might get suspended and have opened a company that is useless for ebay, i'd proceed with it but have alternatives like amazon for fba etc.

You mean even I open a company to register ebay it won't work? why it will be suspended with all authorized information?

If you do not have a director resident in the UK, no bank will allow you an account unless you have six figures or thereabout for reserve. The transaction fees will take a huge toll on profits.

Of course, you could go for one of those EMIs, but they have their own headache as you may find out as your transactions grow.

eBay expects you to open/run your seller account from your resident country or your default domain extension. If you run an eBay account from a country you do not live in, you'd be asked to provide extensive proof that your business has a heavy footprint in that country.

It is possible, but it's quite a minefield and capital intensive. Probably only suited for sellers who are in it for the long haul selling legit items.

Buying a limited company was, once upon a time, a good way around Ebay issues but, quite naturally, things have moved on

If you do manage to register Ebay will want to know who the controlling director is.

You will likely also fall foul of the KYC (know your customer) rules with Adyen and they will want info on the beneficiary of the company funds

You could well find you have spent a lot of money and are no further forward

Suggest you do lots of homework before proceeding
