1% is not irrelevant,I will say that 5% deal is,if I buy $100,000 worth of high end watches on EBAY each month,I get $1k,how much do you get with your 5% deal?

You are proving yourself extremely ignorant about ebay bucks like you do most things.

on 5% ebay bucks...... I get 5%

5% BACK is better than 1% back. It is exactly 5x better than 1% back.

Do you need a calculator?

So you are saying 1% ebay bucks is better than 5% ebay bucks?

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you?

I literally have no idea where you are going with any of this anymore. Either you're confused, me and yankee are. I'm going with the former tho.

1% of 100,000 is $1000,5% of $5000 is $250.
Think big,and you make dollars, think small, you make pennies, unless you are making Turkish lira or Argentina peso.
well,I just checked my Ebay messages, lots of messages coming from sellers whose items I browsed, they are offering x% discount,Oh,EBAY offers statement credit of $50 if I open a credit card with them,no thanks.
I get $300 from other credit card issuers ,so why bother with Ebay offer

Big money changes hands on EBAY,you just have to know what and where to look for them, antique watches sold on Ebay can be resold for 3-5 times the price you paid for.
A $5K watch you find on EBAY,could fetch you $15K in an auction.
A rare print found on Ebay, could be sold for 6 figures.
I just laugh when I read some of you think Ebay is toast !

Let me chime in since I cleaned up really good with the old eBay bucks :(.

First, it looks like eBay sent out two separate messages with respect to eBay bucks. Some accounts got the message with an indication that they would still get special eBay bucks offers periodically while other accounts got a message saying eBay bucks is going away period.

Second, let's see how often we will get these special eBay bucks offers. It may end up that a standard 1% on all purchases wins out over time (my bet is on this).

An example: If i spend $20,000 on eBay every month then I get the max $500 every quarter using the standard 1%. The periodic 5% offers means you need to spend $10,000 within those 5% windows. From past experience these used to be 1 or 2 day time frame and sent about 3 to 4 times in 1 quarter. You also need availability of the right inventory during that window to buy.

We will see how this plays out but again, my bet is that the old flat 1% wins out, even without the bonus bucks they offered then.

If you're spending $20,000 a month on ebay, i REALLY don't think you'd care much about some 1% cash back, that can only be used on ebay. I really hope you'd have a nice big fat credit card with MUCH better rewards than a lousy 1% back. Yeah, if you're spending a quarter of a million a year just on ebay alone, you'll get a nice $2400 back. A whopping $6 a day. yay. You can go buy that starbucks coffee every morning now.

I buy shiit when I need it, not when I might all of a sudden get a 5% offer. I mean, I'm sure I can just buy a shiit ton on the days I get the 5% and max it out like that, but that seems like a lot of work for my sorry ass.

Which, I guess if I want the free $2k/year, then I'll HAVE to.

Ummmm, the 1% adds to your credit card cash back. In my case, it was 1% from ebay + 2.5% from card = 3.5% total.

And regarding your 2400 number, $2,000 is the max you can earn per year. $500 every quarter.

(it used to be 2% which was awesome)

And I know it's very rare for me to take up for agent, but different people are receiving different emails. Some people are seeing the bit about 5% bonus bucks, and some are not. I guess that's where this confusion is coming from.

How in the world did you earn 2k per year from "ebay bucks"? I used to hear about ebay bucks, but never paid them any mind.

It's very simple. Spend $200,000 per year. ($50,000 per quarter, since it maxes out at 500/quarter)

200,000 x 0.01 = 2,000

The second someone shares a screen shot of the email that says ebay bucks are no more, than I will change my tune. Until then, everyone is full of it.

And fine, not $2400. $2000. A whopping $5 a day, and they throw in some change.

Tho why you wouldn't have multiple buying accounts, is beyond me.

They were giving out the 5% offers all the time. Or 8% offers. Even if you buy **** when you need it, you'll still probably be hitting those 5% offers, or even trying to maybe time it out better and buying a lot on those days. Do you really believe you couldn't make more from the 5-8% random offers, than the 1% daily ones? Really think about it. Most of my ebay bucks came from those offers. the 1% meant jack **** to me. It was just there. You'll reach the $2k a year easily. Literally just need to spend $30-40k during those windows, and you'd hit the limit, compared to your $200,000. And you could then spread it out over multiple buying accounts. I have 4 buyers accounts. Each one of them received the same email that ebay bucks are sticking around. Not once have I see the email, or anyone show proof of the email, that says no more ebay bucks period.

I've seen them. On my own accounts. Now it's my word against yours lol.

This is also well documented on other discussion sites.

My guess is that the people who receive the bonus bucks email will continue to receive those offers, and the ones that didn't, won't.

Just like how not everyone always gets certain % off offers during certain days. It's not that hard to comprehend.

You are trying to claim, that ebay bucks will only exist for a select few. I really highly doubt that. This isn't about getting or not getting certain deals. This is about being a part of an entire large program. There is an entire system setup to handle ebay bucks. They are not going to pick and choose who gets to use it, based on apparently not criteria at all. If this were actually the case, there would be WAY more drama.

Every email I've seen ONLY discusses " we've decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases".

So again, PLEASE show me a screen shot of an email that says " We will be discontinuing ebay bucks in it's entirety effective april 1st". They only discuss the every day purchases reward. Some emails might not mention the 5%, but they still say CHANGES to the program. And that's the key.

It's always talking about CHANGES to the ebay bucks program. I've never even seen wording that would imply it's going away. "Changes to" implies it's still going to be active, but changed.

I'll eat my words as soon as I actually see it end, or see ebay actually announce the entire program is completely scraped. An actual official announcement. Rather than this idea that they are only keeping it around, to give special rewards to only special people. All google provides is posts from people. All of them ONLY discussing specifically the " 1% rewards". If ebay was scrapping it, they'd just say " no more ebay bucks". Why bother specifically mentioning just the 1% rewards?

Ebay bucks isn't going away. Mark my words. It will be a new program. People that were already in it, will be grandfathered in for whatever. Not sure what tho.

Hell, I hope you're right. All I'm saying is that I have received two entirely different emails regarding it... one of them completely omitting bonus bucks and 12 month redemption period. And to me, that implies what it implies.

And honestly, I hope ALL accounts DO retain the ability to receive bonus bucks offers. With the bonus bucks being 5%, that means I'll only need to spend $10,000 per quarter to max out the $500/quarter threshold. (if they keep the quarterly max intact(which is bullshiit IMO)) That means $40,000 per year will get me the same $2,000.

That would make it worth my time to consider making several more stealth buying accounts, to spread my typical $350,000-$400,000 annual ebay spend over 10 accounts, therefore netting me 10 x $2,000 = $20,000 a year just for buying the same shiit through ebay that I always have.

Little bit better than $2,000!
