Same $10 item brings you 8.87 on one sale, 8.63 on another, 8.91 on another, etc... It's all about how your customer pays that determines just how much MP deposits into your account for each sale.

You sure that isn't because of how sales tax varies state to state?

Ebay doesn't pay you the sales tax they collect, they send it to the states. I'm a bit surprised that nobody has noticed their fees. You get an email everyday stating "payment sent", just click on the link in the email and it breaks down each sale with fees that the daily payment includes. Look at the items that you've sold for the exact same price and you'll have a different net payment for most.
I noticed this the first first week that I switched to managed payments due to the fact that I was curious on what the difference in fees was vs PayPal. I was shocked that the deposit for a $100 sale was only $84 and change (nearly 16%) on some of my sales and another would pay me $86 and change.
This is business everyone... It's best to know your bottom line.

It's part of the reported income, you just have to sort it all out. At least on paypal... I've not changed to MP yet, so can't speak on that.

Right, but what I'm saying is that unless it's different than how it worked with paypal, we pay the processing see on the grand total. Tax included. Which makes for wildly different net payments to us, for the same item sold, depending on the state you sold the item in.

I'm not on MP, yet, so I haven't seen the breakdown.
