Anyone notice I always keep my eye on the Final Value Fees,
Before Manage Payment after buy purchase the item or auction ends I notice my Final Value Fees were added to My ebay invoice instantly.
After Manage Payment after buyer purchase or auction end I do not see any Final Value Fees occur on the invoice until after buyer pays for the item.
Since eBay has removed resolution center, does this means Final Value Fees are charge only when buyer paids for the item?
If thats so this looks like eBay is favoring buyer and no Unpaid item strike can be given as punishment to buyer?
Do seller are being charge Final Value Fees after item sold or Final Value Fees are charge after buyer pays? Can anyone confirm this?

It has to be when buyers pay since they are deducting their fees from payments as they come in rather than invoicing you each month.

Ebay keeps track of deadbeats and will suspend their buying privilege, individual sellers would not know .

You can see it in any transaction details page.
eBay is eating us alive with fees. It is awful. I do not know how they are handling non-paying buyers but I'm sure they aren't just giving them a free ride.
I just looked into one of my transaction details. Fees on sales tax paid + 11.7% base rate for the category + international fee + another 8% promoted listing costs.
It's a miracle that I'm making any money at all. :(

The majority of my sales are through promoted listings for at least the last year. I factor the extra 10% or whatever amount into the listing price then the few sales I get which aren't from promoted listings bring in an extra 10% profit.
Now that I know eBay is in fact charging fees on sales tax I will have to take another look at my profit margins. It's kind of hard to plan for something like that when the tax rate varies from state to state. I guess the highest is probably 10% sales tax? So to account for the fees on sales tax I would have to add 10% to my listing prices, then multiply that amount by .1 to estimate eBay's fee. What a headache.

Fees change based on how your customer pays. Here in the US, customers can pay with visa, Mastercard, American express, PayPal, google pay, etc. Each has a different discount rate which means you'll pay different fees even though you've sold the same items at the same prices. With PayPal, it was always 2.9% + .30, now with MP, it's as high as 4.7% (when your customer chooses to pay with American express which charges the most).
It's the same with any credit card processor, so MP isn't screwing you, just the credit card companies that continuously raises their discount rates to provide their customers with higher and higher reward perks. Merchants suffer, yet consumers are getting really nice cash back reward points.

When I was using Auth.net + TSYS merchant account I paid exactly the same discount rate for AmEx as I did for Visa/MC, I swear. Can anyone else confirm steveO's claim?
Honestly haven't looked into MP's structure that deeply but if they're charging different rates for different cards (which is unheard of) I will have to review my prices, again. :(

you the retailer collects the sales tax ,if you sold a $10,000 watch with sales tax comes to $10,900,your credit card processing fee is now 2.9% of $10,900 not $10,000.
a difference of $316-$290=$26
thats why retailer cringe when he sees you whipping out your credit card.

Absolutely FALSE. We've been paying the processing fee on it ever since they started collecting it on our behalf. It's been a year or two now, I guess...

YOU pay the processing fee of the total order (which is item, shipping and sales tax),but you dont pay buyer sales tax.
if the customer pays cash, then you dont have any processing fee (2.9 plus 30 cents) .
unfortunately if you sell on sales venue like ebay, etsy or Amzn, you cant take cash or money order or postal order

you figure we pay transaction fee of 30 cents, they pay Ayden 10 cents and pocket 20 cents,we pay 2.9 %,they pay Ayden 1%.
of course EBay would still keep its own customer service to manage our MP accounts.

Ebay is rubbish they don't have traffic and loosing every single day, I can see the decline in their traffic, every year their sale is going down and now the hell of MP where they charging crazy fees, mines use to be 8% and now its almost 12% that's shame
Amazon is much more batter they have alot of traffic and their fees still 7%

Honestly haven't looked into MP's structure that deeply but if they're charging different rates for different cards (which is unheard of) I will have to review my prices, again. :( | It's very much true. Testing this is easy. Just list and sell 10 of the exact same item at the exact same price to 10 different customers. Then go to your MP payouts page and you'll find that your payouts are different amounts.
Same $10 item brings you 8.87 on one sale, 8.63 on another, 8.91 on another, etc... It's all about how your customer pays that determines just how much MP deposits into your account for each sale.
