You said it was an iphone charger - it wasn't - it was a charger that would charge an iphone - it was not an iphone charger - ergo it got removed

New business plan needed

if it's generic, list it as "charger for iPhone". Otherwise, Ebay willl flag it as a trademark violation. You can only use "iPhone charger" if you're advertising a product branded as Apple

did you check item specifics to make sure they were not prepopulated as being an apple brand? etc

Very tricky those cables and chargers that are unbranded but meant for use with iPhone - going to have to keep experimenting OP

If there is a brand name in the title, then they can delete it by Vero. This is not logical. But this happens. And it is in no way possible to prove that this is not so. This is ebay)))

It's because the chip inside your cables is counterfeit and can damage phones. Do you have a Lightning cable tester? If you do, there's a very high chance your cables have an imposter chip rather than an actual E75 or C100/C101 chip.

The only non-Apple Lightning cables you can get away with advertising long-term on eBay are cables that are part of Apple's official "MFi" (Made For iPhone) and have the corresponding stamp for that program on the package.

Program page: https://mfi.apple.com/

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/18...g?v=1518203113

Any non-MFi cables are de facto counterfeit from Apple's point of view.

EDIT: to add on, you should definitely buy a cable tester if you don't own one already. Anyone selling lightning cables should have one. They're about $110.

Nah you'll probably be fine. This is just Apple's way of making sure they are making money off of every single accessory sold for their devices. Non-MFI equipment is rarely "dangerous" it just goes against Apple's policy.

You should be ok. I tried some non apple chargers and aside from 1 that is overheating my phone, most are ok.

Let me tell you what to do Apple are not on eBays vero program so they will not pull your listing down if your charger is Apple charger or not. It’s the eBay bots who pull Apple products down and it’s down to a number of reasons. eBay bots can detect if pictures of Apple product is genuine or not especially if only few pictures are taken so it’s best to take as many pictures as you can only if it’s authentic Apple charger if not authentic Apple charger you can use eBay catalogue and prefill everything in. Stock photos are the best for Apple products but obviously don’t go taking photos from legit websites or anything like that use eBay catalogue stock photo and maybe use stock photo from several competitors or edit them yourself.

Next it all comes down to price eBay bots analyse products your selling to many different retail websites if the charger is being sold under it’s sold value then eBay bots will remove your listing. If an iPhone charger is going for £25 example sell for £20 not £10.

Description is important as well ebay bots can detect if product is genuine by description alone yes you wouldn’t believe but it’s true if you say no warranty is covered it’s a big red flag it’s best just use product details and product description and just leave it as that really don’t have to complicate things when it comes to the description.

Another thing to mention is if you have loads of these chargers I wouldn’t put more than 10 up either and I wouldn’t end the listing if you run out of stock. Put like 2 or 3 and if you sell one add one if you sell 2 and goes to 0 just edit listing and add 2 or 3 again. You don’t want to end listing and start listing again.

If your selling a branded product and member is apart of eBay vero program then it’s always best to just sell 1 at a time and then end listing but that’s another story.

Good luck with trying to sell your charger.
